Smart lad eh, well spotted ... Though totally wrong. They are the Phantoms, they have 'their' own NPC faction
their own system, their own ID, and for RP purposes, a reputation no one else can get hold of.
That stops everybody abusing the 'Terrorist ID' situation. Phantom ID, sure you can check it out somehow,
if not I'll send you a screenshot of what is printed on there.
Do not expect the Phantoms to ever speak in system, its not our way. Just have to watch your radar ...
Please close the thread before leaving. Thankyou.

Phantoms were originally just a player faction only. Now there are also Phantom NPCs (testimony to their good RP). But the Phantom ID is only allowed for those in the Phantom player faction. People in the Phantom player faction get their reps edited by admins so they can dock The Revenant and are neutral to the Phantom NPCs. Only owners of this ID can attack anyone they like without saying anything first. This is because they have proven the faction to be worthy of the trust admins place in them by allowing it.
AW is a bit like that, with our own AW ID, except we can't attack anyone for no reason, and don't have our own NPC faction. But we do have an ID much like Zoner one (who we are aligned with) that allows us to fight any unlawfuls and we are also allowed to fight lawfuls (which Zoners cannot) as long as there is a valid RP reason for this. Thats the same with Phantoms, except their RP validates attacks on ANYBODY beforehand, where as AW has to have a reason (such as say, SF shot AW, AW can fight them now, without the situation having to be self-defense after that first time).
EDIT: Hoodlum beat me too it.. Though he is wrong on ONE thing. I've seen Phantoms type in system chat.. But finding Phantoms post in-system chat thats isn't a very high probability. Basically, all the times I've seen Phantoms post in system chat is when we get into one of those lovely AW-Phantom RP arguments, where we insult Darkstar, they insult Luciaden, and everyone goes their (not so)happy way.:P
No. We are not pirates. We are not Terrorists. We are -Phantoms-.
Yes, we can kill Traders without asking for money. And use any class ship to do it. (As I know you were about to bring that up)
Reason we don't use the Terrorist ID would be that our own RP would be abused by other people... (AKA, PvP whores)
Such as people using our ID so they have permission to blow up whoever they want. (Remember [B]? Ya...)
Its why we got our own NPCs/ID/Bases/System. To prevent that from happening again.
This should of been taken in to PMs... That little stunt of yours in the Phantom dumb was not smart. (Notice how I got it deleted 2 minutes after you made it...)
Phantoms roleplay, but there you go. PvP is a word reserved for certain other sectors. You are the only
complainant here, not a word in game last night, thought it would be smarter to splash it all over the
forums.
Yep, a rule change possibly in order, but like everything else round here, there is a certain easy pace
with which things get done. And being as there is a Phantom NPC faction, most everyone else who has
come into contact with us, sort of read their status, and take that as the normal.

Don't worry Dreygon, if I were new, and got blown whithout being asked for money and wasn't prepared for it because it contradicted the rules I read, I would do the same.
I am not an admin myself, but I have access to admin forums, so I posted the rule change request, and if all admins agree, they are going to be amended.
I don't think we need to continue with this thread.
Majk, apologies, but this was a complaint, whatever was said. Give me a little credit for some intelligence,
I can spot them, however well camouflaged they get. Not the first time either. Some onus has to be on
those throwing the rules back in our faces. Dreygon I suspect has a bit of savvy, just got misplaced.
PMs in future please, otherwise I will continue to get a touch snappy with those thinking its cute to splash
everything all over the forums. This could have been done and dusted without a cross word or a thread
for all to have a poke in.
