1) I think the prices for pilots needs to be rebalanced a little bit. Right now, if you want money, it's infinitely more effective to farm low-class ships (e.g. piranhas) with crap weaponry, as better/well equipped ships (like Hammerheads with class 10 weapons) give almost nothing. Increase the weapon/other equipment drop rate and decrease the price of most pilots. Also, why do bounty hunter pilots which can be acquired from crappily-equipped Piranhas pay 10K whereas Kusari naval officers in better ships only pay 4.5K? Another idea suggested by my friend is to make "Veteran" and "Elite" pilots that are worth more.
2) The main issue: The AI sucks. A friend of mine figured out why: They never shoot all their guns! I think this is an AI bug caused by the mod, but I'm not sure. They only fire one or two of their guns at any one time. This might have something to do with their tendency to fire sideways for some reason, even in fighters. Fixing this would make fights more of a challenge and less of a grind (as they will be actually able to kill you).
3) Mines aren't great. How about you vastly increase the shield damage inflicted by mines? This would REALLY make them useful and worth the cost.

Theres a lot of things off about this. first off Hunter piolots are worth about 22 000 each at the right spot. outcasts 28 000 it all depends were us ell them *tho true the navel guyrs r worthles almsot in comperason.
also waht ship r u fighting them in? i can kill 10 or more hunters with a few vollys. thats in a destroyer of course they will be easy. if ur ina nightflyer they may be hard.
dont know anything bout how they fire and whatnot.
but the mines are rater powrful if you sue the right ones. example. nuclear miens have like 11 000 sheilds dmg or soemthing liek that. enough to reduce even the highest fighter sheilds to nothing.
in the rigth hands mines can do some major dmg. or well blow urself up lol.
there are guard piolets but theyrr wortha fixed amount evrywere 24 000 i think. but the best piolot i know of is outcasts. ho hunters r easy to cpme by in missions and things in unlawfuls. ive killd sevral thousand of them myself to make my cash.

In a similarly equipped ship, I can take down 5-10 NPC ships without my shields going below half.

Nuclear mines are ABSURDLY expensive, and only do 5K shield damage (assuming they hit)
They're supposed to be expensive. Back in 4.80, we had Supernova mines that had a splash damage range of like 500m, and was what you're looking for. They cost 2.5 mil per mine. Nuc mines are not superbly expensive, they're, in fact, quite cheap. Mines aren't the uber-pwnge weapons. They're only to be used in tactics.

not sure what you mean. i was talking u can kill a groupe of them with absolutely no effort at all in a dest. and its not uber expensive. i think a GB can do it to but i ante played in a wile ive forgoten.
but i coulda swore the mines did more. o well. compared to the money u can make they are cheap. ive made over 800 mil in 50 hours. more then enough to pay for. well. anything *except that dang super armor*
The pilot thing, in my eyes, is kind of a moot point. The only really effective way to support characters, even fighter characters, is to trade. I mean, one of the highest-paying missions in the game at, say, 500 thousand, doesn't even cover ONE full payload of missiles. It's been suggested that they up mission pay in a big way, but they can't do anything until the next version, anyway, so...
TRADE.
That's what God made the Train for-PAYING FOR YOUR MISSILES. Also, if you ever expect to own anything bigger than a fighter, it's not even possible without a Train stashed somewhere. Just watch out for the bloody NovaPG, they are INCREDIBLY overpowered and can drop a freighter in seconds.

actualy thats not entirely true. the mis reward sient but the cash from the pilots and such help. you can do it without much probs kiling bounty hunters. theyr easy fatcha good price. and u can get a lot. some missions can get u up to 48 or so hunters. at 22k a pop thats not half bad and its funner then tradeing sometimes. its how i first baght my outcast destroyer. then got my train. but tradeing is faster once u get teh big transports.
