If it is gone due to the automatic wipe, it hadn't any effort put into it for 60 (sixty) days. That is almost 8 weeks, or 2 months, or 1.440 hours, or 86.400 minutes, or 5.184.000 seconds.
If you can't be bothered to login for 10 seconds on the character at least once every 59 days, it can't really be heartbreaking to loose it.
The reason the automatic player wipes are in effect, is due to FL_server having to read ALL character files in at a restart. That takes time. Even with the new speedup enhancements Cannon has spent the last couple of days testing, rewriting, and implementing.
At the moment, even with the player inactivity wipes in effect, we have 60.000+ characters that is being read every time FL_server restarts. Thats why inactivity wipes were enabled, so as making sure that the characters being read in, are characters that has been used recently, and not dormant characters only used on the yearly anniversary of Zelot's first beer.
So for once, you can't blame Zelot. If you lost a character due to the inactivtity wipes, you can only blame yourself.

A & L Guy
I did not blame the server or Zealot - I accept the rules as the rules.
I merely pointed out that for my own reasons which I do not wish to go into. Real Life over ruled playing a computer game.
So I really take offense at
"If you can't be bothered to login for 10 seconds on the character at least once every 59 days, it can't really be heartbreaking to loose it."
And quite frankly I did log two of the 3 chars. I just did not realise it had to be every single one of them. And I've been here a while.
That is a very cheap shot. If you cannot understand what I am saying, you are very immature.
And nothing in the character wipe situation is going to change, the why's have been explained ...
Now seen as this was a massive gravedig in the first place, it is going back in the ground.
