Hello! I know you're always accepting new players in IMG| and they sometimes go wrong but seeing members that know what they're doing going on a raid in Alpha is a bad habbit. The guild shouldn't be able to attack in first place. All that you have are defensive wings. Teaming up with the =CR= and BHG| PvPlustgankfestraids is not a good idea for a faction like IMG. Just my 2 cents. Take it, or leave it.
And for the record. I wasn't even in that fight. I was just observing.
Being in IMG| myself. I agree. It's a bad idea for miners to start raiding Alpha. You'll just stir the hive... Myself, i've taken the IMG|Carsten.Miller out of the Taus until this thing blows over. I'm a miner, not a soldier.

hopefully all that n00b nonsense will end soon.
I've put a hold on accepting applicants unless referred to me or another director by someone we trust, for the time being.
also, if you see something that looks strange or out of place by one of our members, get some screens and PM them to me or Beck.
Just now I had entered Tau-23 to pirate. Yeah, with all of the CR and IMG patrols around it's pretty hard and suicidal, but my character doesn't care. Two gunboats are close by as I approach the miners, but my character doesn't care again. He takes risks.
I moved next to the miners/transports (one indie IMG Hegemon which had already paid earlier, and one Interspace Stork taking his cargo) and the gunboats moved in as well. So I started my character's role-play as the ambitious, dangerous yet fair pirate in my Roc. The IMG| gunboat, IMG|Tau.Sentinel[D], was playing the part of the defender, trying to get me to leave. That was a good part, and my character responded to it.
During this time, my character mentioned that if either of the gunboats tried anything both of the civilians would have their ships destroyed before they could destroy me. Shortly after this, Sentinel said: "As I recall we didn't get to finish this the last time around." That was a reference to another incident in which I escaped.
I had literally just opened up chat to respond when my Roc was immediately destroyed by a Pulse and Razor combination from Sentinel.
I was disappointed by the fact that he chose to act like that. That insta-killing right after a sentence was posted (one which didn't hint at an attack being so imminent) did not reflect the sort of treatment to others I would like to see in the members of an official faction.
I'm not going to press on with this any further. I just would like to ask that next Rule 0.0 be considered. They had two gunboats and I wouldn't've standed a chance in a fight, but there could've been some great role-play during and I am disappointed that it was ruined by such a dreadful stance toward the treatment of the person on the other side of the shoot-right-after-typing guns.
P.S. Apart from this, I generally enjoy encounters with IMG| and hope to have many more in the future.
[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

The Tau Sentinel was me, and the situation was as follows:
Two gunboats were less then 4K away from a mining party (1 miner, 2 transports) working the field. You as a -known- pirate were warned, to turn away. With 2 gunboats present, it'd be a ganking whichever way it turned out, I wanted to give you a chance to withdraw. You did not.
Quote:During this time, my character mentioned that if either of the gunboats tried anything both of the civilians would have their ships destroyed before they could destroy me.
And with a comment like that, you still complain about getting blown out of the sky by allied patrol craft, protecting said civilians?
Quote:Shortly after this, Sentinel said: "As I recall we didn't get to finish this the last time around." That was a reference to another incident in which I escaped.
As I recall you were there with another Gallic Brigands bomber, doubleteaming me. A flight of CR interceptors came along and I held off on targeting you (the other bomber had already been destroyed) since I didn't want to gank. But that was another situation.

I saw you coming towards me, figured you were intending to SNAC. But read this back to yourself. "I wouldn't have stood a chance in a fight". And yet you complain about the outcome, simply because, after you threatened to destroy the civilians, I did not give you -any- chance to do so. Granted, it was a little harsh, but I was not going to wait for:
A: Your backup to arrive (not sure if you had any, but last time you had friends). Usually in the Taus, dawdling sees reinforcements coming from both sides and it turning into a slugfest, which frankly I've grown tired of.
B: For you to fire first. I get the feeling it's expected here by pirates that the unlawfuls get to fire the first shot. I don't see why that should be.
In all truth, you should have seen the two gunboats, realised you were outclassed, and gone away, perhaps to find another mark. I explicitly gave you the chance to withdraw. As it stands, I still don't see myself having done anything wrong by destroying a bomber that was threatening a civilian. I did not act in response to our previous encounter. I responded to you threatening the civvies. The moment you threatened to attack them, you went from potential threat to actual threat.
Apologies if you feel grieved, but I do not feel to have done anything either against the rules, or disrespectful to you.

That's because my character is known to be utterly idiotic and try to pirate miners no-matter what threats are present. He even taxes miners during fights with fighters or gunboats. He wouldn't run.
Quote:And with a comment like that, you still complain about getting blown out of the sky by allied patrol craft, protecting said civilians?
It's not the fact I was blown up. I don't really mind that. It's the fact that you Pulsed and Razored my ship while I was turning away at 80m/s (an easy target) with a comment beforehand that didn't hint my destruction would be so imminent.

Ah yes, that Brigand. I probably would've gone and killed him for stealing the credits from the miners if no IIMG or CR ships had showed up. Thanks again for stopping when those two Colonials started shooting at me.

I complain about the insta-killing before I have a chance to react and realise you've started the fight. And I could've typed and role-played whilst we were fighting as well.

That part I understand completely. I always have IMG/CR/WRF/RM/BAF/HMS/Various indies arrive if a miner stalls for time while I'm taxing in Omega-7, Dublin or Tau-23. So I normally do try to rush things and not wait around for long. And I rarely have somebody to call for backup. An MNS Tridente did come and help me once after he saw the death message of a CR I'd shot down. And a few other indie pirates as friends on my first day in Tau-23. But with two gunboats you probably could've taken anything that came to help me down with me.
Quote:B: For you to fire first. I get the feeling it's expected here by pirates that the unlawfuls get to fire the first shot. I don't see why that should be.
I generally like to wait for the lawfuls to fire first, so it shows that I tried to sort the situation out without violence (i.e. with miners paying my tax) and I was forced to act. Or when my character grows tired of the stalling game. But most pirates do shoot first, so it's understandable.

Suppose that you missed with the Pulses and Razors? I would've killed those civis and it would've been your fault because you decided to shoot and automatically forfeit their lives to me.

Giving me the chance to respond to the attack would've been nice.
But anyway, I was a little peed off at the time but I don't care now. It's a game, I can die. This is why I need to have other things to do, so I don't get so angry at incidents like this.
But next time, giving me a chance to respond, as I said before, would be appreciated.

Next time I'll do the opening salvo with pulse only then, so you have a chance to veer away. I admit, following up with the razors rightaway was a bit harsh, but you did look like you were going to bomb me, at least to me.

just a little comment regarding that situation, a bomber can kill a transport or two long before a gunboat (even two of them) can shoot it down, as you certainly would have, so taking you out while minimizing the risk of collateral damage is ideal, just like modern police forces do.
Dispite my above defense of the instant killing, i know exactly as you feel, having been on the receiving end of those battlerazors many a time, although my usage of dual novas against fighters to the same effect should be known.
Thank you for informing us of your desire for improved interaction with the IMG.

How about you do not bring your official faction Carriers to camp ontop of Cali, together with a bunch of Gunships and a Hunter Battleship to try raping the crap out of everything that's there (at which you then fail so badly)?
Just a suggestion. If you need names, I got the screens. But it would be appreciated if you would stop acting like the whole lot of Indies in the Taus you're supposed to outsmart by playing properly.
