No, that would be twisting my words. Allow me to return the favour. You use the Corvo as a combat ship?
Anyway, the Zoner lifestyle involves living free and out of house rule. Trading involves going through house space for the most part, ergo following their rules temporarily, especially since according to the lore about Zoners we trade faraway items with houses and that is where we made our wealth.
Sure thing. Come back again with a better insult and perhaps some logic.
Actually, they would be Zoners still, for reasons stated above. Perhaps you should just keep smoking?
What makes them different than any other trader if they are just following the same laws, going to the same places, trading the same commodities? It's the RP, which allows for alot more freedom then a calculation to figure out the highest credit per second rating for the routes, as you suggest.
And I think I will keep smoking, thank you very much. Want some?

The fact is they do not follow the same laws outside house space and they are not allowed to go to the same place, and trade the same commodities. Either way, the answer to your question is choice.
Adding to that, their relations with pirates. The fact that they on occasion "smuggle" goods to pirates, which they need. In-lore and in-game.

No, thank you.
But as you said earlier.
Quote: the role-play of a trader involves making the most amount of credits in the least amount of time. If your trader does not role-play in this way, you are either not deeply enough into your RP, or you are role-playing an extraordinarily weird character.
So how does this leave you any choice? You should always run the most profitable route by your measure of the RP. Not much choice in that now is there?

In the long-run. You do not supply the pirates, you get pirated.
You do not do a safe enough route, you lose the credits.
Can't land in house space. It's a tough faction to really make money in.
Me, I just made a Gateway trader. Gateway's a fun faction to play, though if you stay in RP regarding their competition with Bowex/BMM and the partnership with IMG and ALG you'll find just how hard Bowex's monopoly really is. Even certain IMG minerals have only a Bowex/BMM base in Bretonia as a feasible sell point.
But the RP is fun and fulfilling so that's all okay. Don't overlook corporate trading.
And no offense to my old Junker alma mater, but smuggling is overdone.

There is what people forget Rudo, that "Zoner" is not "Zoner guard" to be a zoner trader you need'nt be a Zoner guard, with the normal zoner ID you can trade all over, and dock anywhere, you just cant do it in a 5k OH NOEZ!!!!
