Cardamine, - I can understand where you're coming from, I've had this discussion with other Freelancer players. Don't get me wrong.
IMHO you are of a type of Freelancer player that would be quite happy to see all npcs and npc factions removed from the game, in order to allow you to do whatever you like without restriction. I'm sure there's probably a mod somewhere that's done just that.
I know, because I think that way sometimes. But if you take that away it ceases to be Freelancer, and becomes something very different which is quite dull. Clan politics takes over, between clans with no real identity which have no meaning to someone not in a clan.
I hope you don't think I'm assuming too much. In most ways I'm glad -=?=- are here because we needed some piracy on the server. But we're only halfway there.
Role-played characters:
daedalus - Liberty Navy
bandersnatch - Ruthless criminal possessed by a (huge) alien
Shredder - Small-time Kusari pirate, looking to join the Blood Dragons
"Bounty Hunters. We don't need that scum." - Admiral Piett

Good to hear.

I'm glad you can understand my point of view. It's just my opinion, but NPCs to me are an irritation.

I love how you laud the cause of RP and then complain when Pirates don't play nice.

No, it wasnt me then. I just happened to pass through the same area at the time, so I figured it would probably be me
I do not complain when pirates dont play nice. I complain when someone claims to be a pirate, but still insists that he should be allowed to be, if not friendly, then at least neutral with the houses. If you are a pirate, then at least RP one. Be hostile to the houses and friendly to the pirates.
You think that its annoying to have the police picking on you at all times. Well, guess what, I think that its annoying to constantly be chased by pirates. I could, I presume, make a character like yours and then fly around with complete immunity from both houses and pirates. But I dont! I RP a freelance trader who just happens to be on the right side of the law. Police, Navy and Bounty Hunters are my friends cause they keep the evil stinking pirates of my back!
You want to have your cake and eat it too. I accept the benefits and drawbacks of RPing a character

It's also true that you can make money out of killing npcs. Try blowing up a few Liberty Dreadnoughts and selling the Captains. Some places will pay 100K each. It'll take a while, but a hold full can be worth over 10 million.

Fine, thats your choice. If I don't have neutrality, I can't use any decent trade routes. It's such an inconvenience when I just want to RP with sentient beings.

Guess what, being a pirate is, at times, highly inconvenient!
from your first screenshot, it's not much of an accomplishment to destroy a dreadnought with a bunch of huegenots. Besides, both of those were the same person.
I've role-played with my bomber character, now due to this war with the IG if i go anywhere near any kusari company/police/navy ship/base/tradelane I get shot at on sight, I'm not complaining in fact I'm not even gonna try changing my Rep cos this way while fighting player ships I'm also getting attacked by every NPC patrol or escort that turns up and it just helps to improve my piloting skills. And when we decided to invade kyushu I thought it helped the role-playing aspect of it as I was fighting navy patrols most of the time.
Now my destroyer character is pretty much neutral to the outcasts, IMG and the kusari companies in the systems my clan has claimed. So I can sit at the kyushu gate mining hydrocarbons while I wait for something to happen, or if there's two of us there and there are no IG on I can goto newark station and sell my cargo.
My trading character is also neutral to the outcasts, lane hackers and most companies as well as the britonian police and navy, which is how I intend to leave it. If mollys attack me, good, it'll save me buying SB's and NB's I can make a little extra selling any equipment I get off them.

No, check again before leaping to conclusions. Hunter and Inferno. Both have Vtec on the end.
We don't care if it's an accomplishment or not. We're not bothered about skill and finnesse, because numbers triumph. We've already won battles against our favour when we were a fledgling clan, now it's our turn to steamroller all opposition ;)

Sorry, I'm not pirating in a bloodhound whilst you're in an Eagle...................!
