" To make this story short and sweet, there's this girl I loved, Christene Aucoin, and she left me for the Council 2 months ago. Shes an excellent pilot, and is already piloting an Agama. Four days ago, I received word that my brother was shot down by her, and he is in critical condition. However, I cannot reach him, for he is in a hospital on New Paris, and the jump gates to Il-de-France are sealed. And if you ever find her, I will pay you to bring her to me alive, and she is most likely found in Lorraine."
Brun drink the rest of his glass, and stares out the window, as if searching for something.
Villette nodded. She had heard of the Council performing such moves before, but she had never experienced it herself. She looked Brun in the the eyes before speaking.
"I thank you for telling me this, Bernard," she spoke comfortingly. "I will do everything I can to bring this woman to you and to justice, for you and your brother. I will contact friends around Gallia to help you look for her. I promise you that."
She looked at him and stood up. She walked around the table to him and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
"See you in space."
She pulled out her datapad and wrote on it a bit more while walking towards the bar to grab her drink.
Leon walked through the doorway and sat at his usual spot, he lied his head down on the wooden counter, and let the cool air calm his emotions. Another failure. He was, disappointed, was it not the job of an officer of the Royal Police to arrest the Sirians and have them thrown in prison, their fates then to be decided. The Police Force in the Core Worlds had much more success than the branch in the Border Worlds. He began to wonder why he applied to the transfer here.

Leon walked in to the bar with a miniature computer carried in between his right arm and his right shoulder, his was making his way towards a circular table in the back of the Cafe. When he arrived at the empty table, he pulled out a chair and set the computer down. As usual, he thought. He was always the first one here, now he just had to wait for the others, and the games could begin.

Francis Talley walked into the caf? with a worried look on his face. "paperwork, paperwork always with the damn paperwork." he thought. He didn't know who invented filling documents in triplicate, but he hated him with a passion. He was starting to feel more like a bureaucrat than a policeman.
Still, the mountain of paperwork seemed to be shrinking slowly and he had a little time to relax in the caf?. He got himself a croissant and went straight to the table where Leon was sitting at.
Leon put the miniature computers in the center of the table, one for each person sitting there. "Alright then, it's time to see just which one of us is best at this game." But first, place your bets, I'm betting 1 million credits that I'll be chosen for either Germany or Austria."
