Is being lawful worth it anymore?

The description of pirates as 'bad guys' is not something I agree with. in fact, I think both sides are just as bad as each other. The model I aim for is Warhammer 40K, with 'black and grey' morality in its extreme. Well, black and grey is what I aim for, but it'll probably end up switching without notice.
