The Congress tried to keep the corp relations on a nearly neutral level, sure we don't share that much sympathy but aside from the occasional clashing not much offensive actions have been made. Due the game mechanics we can't be hostile with them anyway that will make us a target of the npcs and bases all around Sirius. See the Kusari "repfix" incident. All in all they could be removed from the hostile faction section from the rep chart.
I'd like to point out that anyone can fly with Junker IFF and pirate ID and pirate everywhere (maybe not if i'm wrong please state it here). That way he couldn't land on lawful bases by default which makes it a valid option rp wise. Sure we (the Congress and some other Junkers) won't like it much if he runs around murdering everyone in house space still it's valid i think.
Also a question to Primitive, how would you rp yourself out as a Junker when a corporate wants to turn the house police and military on the Junkers as a whole since you robbed them too many times? Sadly the police does not share the "Was it a Junker? You probably mistook him with someone!" attitude most of the time.

This is what I am talking about...Junkers pirate in independent system, so basically house military don't care if it didn't happened on their turf..why should they, they do their job like they suppose to..
Pirating independents, basically miners, traders, other pirates which are not related to any faction in house space..house police will turn their heads on other side (rp wise..we tip them for drug dealers, for other pirates so they can catch ones, and they leave us be, cause none cares for independents).
We can get ninja rep'd by corporations, but not houses..rp wise they need us..THEY REALLY NEED US...if they didn't need us they would ban us from they space long time ago, we take out the garbage (talking as independent junker)
Now..you see A junker pirate...if you use Junker IFF/Pirate ID...you are not really a junker, and if congress doesn't approve junker tech, you are so far from junker.
Junker IFF/Junker ID..if you pull it right...you can manage..but I am afraid congress would do FR5 on those alike because they are really trying to be good with everyone (I still don't understand why would junkers want to be friends with everyone, we are far from beggars)
I gave some thought to this, and we can discuss it on skype or such..because junkers are really a basic trading/smuggle faction right now...smuggling is only think that give us quasi next to the legal.
Methinks the elvin one be trolling. Nobody can ignore that much in the way of game mechanics and not be one.
Can't see how am I trolling about anything, so I'll just suggest it was attemp to start a "fight".
Anyway.
It's called RP. You say game mechanics. Just because ID state you can do something, it doesn't mean you have to do it, it may actually cause a lot of trouble RP-wise. Don't think anyone told Junkers can't pirate - sure they can, with a few limitations, but again, it's not exactly "pirate" faction so pirating does have consequences, both from lawfulls and Junkers.
I buy things I don't want to make an impression on people I don't like.

They are...for money everything faction...they are hostile to house corporations RP wise..
Much as Junkers need people, people need Junkers..we are necessary evil. Read on wiki what junkers basically are..and then look what they are now...they are nothing more than trading faction if you ask me.
It's a shame..as I said they have so much more potential. I have nothing against Junker congress just so it be clear. I would just like you them to show some teeth to Sirius, and not hide in holes and run from everything.

Because more friends is more money and more security. Yanagi Depot exists in RP solely because the Junkers have established its importance to all parties in the region and set up an operation for ALG. The Congress took this a step further and established a friendly but wary rapport with the GMG.
Politics and a fast mind are the foundation of being a good Junker.

I say..brother Junkers..unite:D
The Congress does occasionally show teeth, in the same way the Zoners do. They like their peace and their space. They'll back it up if they need to and they'll start the fight if they think they can win. Good RP means thinking like your character; some people play it like they win if a fight is avoided altogether. When I led the Congress the character I played was one of those people. The guy who did all the heavy lifting for me when I led the congress and leads it now thinks along the same lines.
I'm sorry if you think in terms of 'trade faction', 'pirate faction', 'lawful faction', and so on. Some members of the faction do spend most of their play time trading between bases and I can see where this can give you the idea. Trust me when I say that the peace a lot of junkers enjoy is the result of a few well-phrased ideas shared with the right people. A lot of the worst battles have been fought already, but with the Gallia invasion coming there are far worse ones on the horizon.
Again, the ideal junkers' way to handle this is to talk it out, seed a few ideas into indirect sources and avoid combat that doesn't need to happen. Dead people are bad publicity if you are trying to establish yourself as everybody's best friend.
Have to dissagree with you, always did. The junkers, according to the stated rp, aren't everybodies friends. Quite the opposite, actually. They are tolerated by lawfuls but aren't liked by them. That is why the congress keeps fracturing. People read the descriptions, the id, and the stated objectives and join up happily. They expect, and rightfully, to be smugglers, tramp traders, and occaisional pirates. They expect to be Talon Karde, Al Capone, or Jack Rattenbury. Look at my recent reinstatement after returning to disco, my application was actually disregarded and blackballed by a member because I smuggle to much. What? And what do you call the taxes you collect for debris salvaging if not piracy? Junkers only make nice to gain advantages, when that option is supplanted by another or becomes untenable, they pirate the motherlovers. Junkers are very much the mafia of Sirius. Legitimate business shadowing soiled doves, smuggling, gambling, and protection rackets.
"Unaffiliated individuals and enterprises will often come to us for dealings. If the dealings are profitable, proceed. If they stand to threaten us or simply present an opportunity too great to pass up, perhaps a lesson in true power and the harsh truths of space is in order." Tinkerbell.......
' Wrote:The other item is that there IS an RP solution that has come up - and the Junkers have been screaming about the implementation of that solution right from the start. One that doesn't even involve FR 5 - just lots of bounties...
' Wrote:Oh . . you mean the blanket bounty that had nothing to do with junkers pirating?
Actually, it had a lot to do with Junkers pirating. In Galileo in fact. Junkers used to sit in large groups blowing up Kusari NPC's and pirate every Kusari player transport that flew through the area. Remember that Galileo is even on the KNF patrol routes, so why the Junkers thought that would go unnoticed is beyond me.
Regardless, the bounty was an in RP result of in game RP, and what did the general Junker population do? Scream and cry about it OORP on the forums. Much like the Zoners did when someone dared put a bounty on them due to RP in game.
And before all the "pipboy hates Junkers" nonsense starts, know that I have a Junker character and I used to have two of them. Also, you'll note that neither I nor the BDS placed the bounty on Junkers. That came from the KSP which I am not and never have been a part of.
