Quote:Option one is already done. The problem with it? There aren't nearly enough players for it to be done properly. Hence many stations are simply covered by the Alliance itself.
Well, that's the limitation you have to work within, you cant expect to have 50 players online 24/7 when the server max is 200, and this is a -game- afterall, people dont spend their lives doing this. At least, I should hope they dont.
Quote:Option 2: Won't happen. That basically forms Zoners into one entity. Something that neither the Zoner play base nor developers want. Each faction has its own identity, diplomacy, role play, and player core.
Then make option 1 work, I dont see the problem here.
Quote:In both options the massive population growth and the fact we were given Gran Canaria damages the role play of the faction. There is no way we could have went from 4500 to the what, 430m plus we are now. (Gran Canaria lulz). Giving us Gran Canaria is giving us our Holy Grail.
Most people wouldnt consider being given the holy grail a problem that needs to be fixed. Perhaps there isnt an issue, and everyone is just trying to -make- an issue to cause more drama around here, because, y'know, that's exactly what discovery needs more of -_-
I'm just going to say that there's only one ship I think needs to be changed: The Aquilon.
A Carrier is an offensive warship, this is inherent to the design. It's not a defensive ship, it's a ship for carrying fighters beyond what your bases can support, to overcome a fighter's lack of onboard supplies. That's not an issue for Zoners most of the time; they primarily use Corvos, Conferences, freighters, and Spatials for exploring in-RP (far as I know), all of which can carry plenty of supplies on their own.
This leaves either offensive operations (highly unlikely) or limited use in an emergency-response capacity as the only sensible purpose, but would that truly be so much more effective as an emergency response than a more "standard" capital ship such as the Fearless? The crew and costs of one Aquilon would easily go into two or three Fearless destroyers, maybe more; certainly more than enough to overcome most threats.
I'll leave what exactly to do with it to someone else. But I don't believe it fits the Zoners in its current state.

I have an idea.
Let's have all Nomads destroyed. This way the Order will fullfill its destiny of rescuing humanity from an evil alien race.
Let's make it so that no foreigners can enter Kusari so that the Farmer's Alliance will achieve their goal.
Give Corsairs a lush, green planet so that they never have to starve for food again, attain near unlimited resources and push Hessians out of the Omegas.
Nomads - they infect humans.
Zoners - They are none aggressive unless engaged.
That "Freeport_13" had no reason to be in Norfolk Shipyard. It's his fault, not anyone elses. He found death in that system - idotic move he made, yes - but not others fault.
So, in other words - if one person makes a mistake - you blame all that controls a Jinkusu too? Thats foolish to my concern.
Remove his badge, make a RP out of it, talk to the admins and have his vessel locked in Bastile - simple and co operative with great RP. But no, we want to blame all of those that has a Jinkusu for this guy fault.
I am trying my best tto save up for one - with the economy that we have in this game on acheiving money, is very long time to get to atleast 900mill. And i only get 1-2hours a day of FREELANCER time. Then i have to right up a storyline on getting one? I have enough frustration in college right now. Seriously, this is the damn reason why this server is dropping RP and increasing foolishness/PVP.
This is not a reag, this is just my concern at this subject.
' Wrote:...I'm actually surprised that others like the GMG or IMG havent found their own planets by now...
...Why the GMG hasnt developed larger fleets to deal with the outcasts or other threats in their space yet, I'm not sure - but it probably has more to do wtih the fact that they consider themselves expert fighter and bomber pilots and are used to doing hit and run guerilla tactics rather than all out warfare.
Actually we do have a planet; Miura in Okinawa, it's just not the water planet we are looking for but we aren't complaining. It's the primary source for the weapons grade Plutonium going around (another GMG monopoly).
But I am really actually commenting about the Caps comment because it's sort of a similar story to what we have here. Disco GMG, like the other 2 Guilds and Zoners were provided a full cap line for use with their IDs, they didn't have their own it was reasoned that they rebuilt Rheinland warships from the graveyard and used those. When we are creating GMG| we absolutely refused to fly any caps, not because we didn't think GMG had the resources, far from it as they have more then enough resources on top of funding BD army. We refused to because in RP caps are useless in the Crow Nebula. It was just completely illogical to think that after wiping out an entire cap heavy house military using bombers and fighters would suddenly later turn to wasting resources on caps themselves. There would be no reason to believe, yet, that they would need to change what was already successful; guerilla tactics with snubcraft using cloud cover for advantage (bunch of space ninja's heheh). Now we do field a flagship but if you'll read the SRP request and notice how I use it that it's not a defensive ship, but an offensive one, so that flagsip itself doesn't defend our clouds.
Now this part is what may show as an example similar to what is being done here. Once GMG| became official our first step was to make a strong stance to have the caps removed from the GMG ID and we managed to succeed in convincing the devs to do so by explaining the history and nature of the crow nebula and the events that had transpired within in Sirius history. Now I will reiterate; GMG can in fact easily field an armada of caps but I do not see any reason why they will until some pivotal climactic moment teaches them that guerilla tactics aren't enough (it would have to be big - like a house invading with different tactics then RM or something of similar scope).
But if you are serious in your attempt to refine and streamline the Vanilla RP and Disco RP for Zoners then take the above example as evidence that is possible to convince the devs to change an ID.
One last note: Has anyone been able to come up with a solution to a population boom of 4500 to couple hundred mil in 20 yrs. I heard refugees, but heheh lets be a little realistic here heheh. Roll back some Vanilla dates maybe and perhaps even begin the Zoner movement at an earlier date? Also this may address the issue of Zoners finding a planet or three 20 years before they stated they were looking for just one, might want to rewrite that little Vanilla contradiction and smoothen out some timeline edges. Or...is everyone just concerned about the caps and everything else just a bunch of hogwash to be ignored because the caps are under attack?
