X finished the bottle of rum, shaking his head quickly, starting to feel it just a little. He folded his helmet back into his armour, it followed a similar design principle to the rest of his armour, being lightweight and compact but still very sturdy. His face had symmetrical surgical scars that ran from the front of his head, all the way down to the back, his eyes were obviously mechanical, being steel frames where his eye sockets once were, inside the frames were a glowing blue ball, one on each side.
He approached Lavinia and Kane, glancing at Kane for a brief moment, his eyes still seemed to convey some modicum of emotion, regardless of how cold and mechanical they were. He spoke with a hint of scorn on his voice, "Having fun, you two?"
Lavinia raised her head, looking over at X and blinking slowly, the glow in her eyes had faded a noticable amount, revealing the drunk haze in her eyes that her implants couldn't completely deal with. She nodded at him. "Y-yeah...Kane...Kane bought me a drink, aanndd..." She blinks again, as if trying to remember, but after a moment she shrugs and goes back to sipping her glass of water.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
X's eyes swiveled to Lavinia for a moment, before returning to Kane, small pieces of information appearing to zip across the small bulbs. He sneered, passing his hand over his pistol, before quickly clenching hist fist and bringing it back to a more casual position. Kane smiled, but it simply didn't hide the expression of his eyes.
Seems like someone's getting jealous, Commander...
X glared at Kane, the right side of his mouth twitching, otherwise not speaking.
Lavinia shook her head.
"N-no...not tired...I'm fine."
At which point, the display of data that covered her view for most of her life died out, as well as the color-correction with it. Blues became darker, reds and greens became slightly brighter, as if glowing, and everything gained a slightly blurred shine. She blinked a couple of times, and rubbed her eyes. The blue glow in her eyes had died out completely, revealing their original color, which was an even darker blue, almost black.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
X shook his head, opening his mouth as if to speak, then shutting it again. He made a slight crack, before stopping to collect his words - and thoughts.
How to approach this....
Knock the whelp flat?
No, not the way to do this...
He then looked back to Lavinia for a moment, immediately recognising the fading of her eyes, X muttered, just loud enough for people around him to hear, "... little prick didn't seem to pay any damned attention, during that 'emergency...' "
With that said, he re-folded his helmet, pulling a small fluorescent red tube out of the injector positioned on his upper back, and replacing it with a blue tube of the same size, the machine whirring slightly as it accepted the tube. Within an instant, he set off, disappearing in the halls of the derelict.
