In my opinion - the fact that Military and police do not recive a regular pay for Their job - leads to situation, that many many players choose a pirate job, becouse they can earn money and shoot and kill other pilots.

Right now we have much much more pirates than navy or police, and for day to another the amount of lawful forces decrease.

That's true that when You buy a boomer or another ship with Navy or Police tag - you don't have to spend so much cash (specially when You're a skilled pilot) but for most of players this is not enough.

If nothing will change, a whole sirus become a one Pirate system... where nobody will be safe.

Right now more dangerous is work of police/navy than pirate - in Liberty were few situations where whole NY was invaded by pirates, they take over WHOLE SYSTEM for fun, and a few police officers was helpless - they can only hide near Manhatan and watch.

In my opinion this is a disturbing trend.

Perhaps the reason the pirates out number the lawful forces is because there are more pirate factions?

Added onto the fact that typically people who commit unlawful acts normally outnumber lawful forces anyway.

Seriously, it's not that bad. Sometimes unlawfuls outnumber the lawfuls, sometimes the lawfuls outnumber the unlawfuls.

Lawful Fines = Reverse piracy.

Plus, people don't whine when you ask them to pay 4 million credits and STILL destroy their cargo when you're a lawful. Truefact.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

If I pirate, it's not for money, it's for the roleplay.

If I hunt pirates, it's not to protect people, it's for the roleplay.

Heck, I made a Gallic Merc, not to collect money as I kill, but because I wanted to spice up the roleplay in Gallia a little.

I think you need to rethink this, I'm not the only one who pirates for fun.

And stop using New York/Liberty as an example, it's got the highest concentration of idiots.

How many times somebody pay You anything? most of pirates/smuglers or just run or call for backup.
I saw once fantastic RP, when a corrupted cop take a bribe for let smugler go with a forbiden cargo...

However, the fact remains that sometimse I afraid to leave a planet in Pensylvania, NY or another system - becouse there were ad least 5 to 10 pirates.
Also still to many pilots choose - a pirate way, why? becouse is easy... too easy...

I only have one pirate char, and it's a flea. Copping around is really fun. Pirating is really, really hard.

PvP abuse, IMO.

Well, destroy them and have your friend bring a transport to carry the cargo, then split the profits as you protect the ''evidences'' of the crime.

There's a reason why this game is a multiplayer game.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

that why it's a great example... But in another systems is the same situation - perhaps only slightly smaller scale.

Good for You - but still there is much much more who dont, and who ruins a RP.

No, it's a terrible example, alot of people in those systems roleplay fine, but alot more just want to shoot things.

It's not just in Liberty in fact in Kusari it's even worse. I come there often with my trader and the people I get to see there usually are:

Other traders
Hogosha
Farmers Alliance

I never ever saw a police in Kusari actually!
