1 Death for mixed melee (Meaning multiple ship classes on both sides)

As for the bombers I agree, well piloted bombers are an excellent addition to any fleet and are highly recomended, not only due to their anti capital ship use, but in the right hands a bomber can rip fighters apart as well.

Well one; Your fighting with HF, SA, and SF most of the time.. They use ALOT of caps. HF uses some fighters here and there, but even I found their capship use a little (way..) too much. Not to mention how horribly their GBs did yesterday. AW uses as many fighters as caps, if not more when you factor in bombers. I used a GB yesterday, because we were outnumbered, and my fighter is in Vespucci where I was training HF before I left for my fathers a few weeks ago. (Which is being moved back to Theta, and my GB to Vesp since I think all of us who were in Omega-5 yesterday will agree, they need some serious GB training..).
I say we should have nearly invincible and super expensive (say... 1.9 bil?) BSs... but not the ones we already have, as too many people already own those. Then suddenly all the PvP whores would have nearly invincible ships. Can you say "Bad idea"?
No, I say we introduce a new class of BS to be nearly-invincible and cost billions.
And Blunt, it does, because well piloted bombers slaughter BSs.
EDIT: Dab. Don't even start. One of our GBs was new and badly under equipped. I was trying to protect it a bit, but it clearly didn't work. So DON'T insult our GB piloting. I also noticed you died before we even got there. So you have no room to talk.
There is a way to buy items that costs more than 2.5 bills.
As you know, carrying credit cards on board allows you to break the 2.5bill credits limit. So, when you are going to buy something that might cost like 6 billions, just carry 1.9bill as credits, and the rest as credit cards. You transfer them to the seller during the ship buying process.
I still don't know if a single ship can cost more than 2.5 billion credits tough..

CS whoring is something that, as an Asgard, I had to face quite often.
The last 5 wars were against CS fleets. We used fighters, and bombers, as some occasional CS too, and even outnumbered and out gunned we won them all.
That is because people think that a battleship, with all its raw armor and firepower, can pwn anything on their path. That seems logical, but said people forgot that all BS have an accuracy problem which is related to the target algorithm used by FL.
FL targeting algorithm was meant for fighters, where all weapons are very close to each other, so the cross air is in the average center relative to all active weapons (and the time taken by the bolts to travel the length of the ship is neglected, because it almost inexistent). But, with a battleship, where some guns are 1-2k away from each other, the algorithm fails because the time a shot takes to travel the length of the ship is not computed. So the shots arrive to the target out of phase...
The only way we have to solve that is to make the muzzle velocity very high, in the range of 5-10 k/s. That way, the time taken by a projectile to travel the length of the ship is much smaller, and the accuracy bug is diminished to an extent.
The true way to solve it would be to rewrite the targeting and firing algorithms to make them fire the guns on a sequence (i.e: the furthest weapons to the target fire first, then when the bolts reach the position of the closest guns, the closest ones begins firing), but as we don't have FL source and that is hard coded into the game itself, it's not possible to solve the problem that way.

I dont know why you say "dont insult our GB skills" because they really were poor (no offence:P). There were three of you. Two can take out a battleship, and one can pin down another gunboat with escort. You also had a fighter and (you were supposed to have) a cruiser helping you i think.
I know there was a battleship on our side, but he didn't really do much apart from spray off the odd shot here and there. I think that you should have won to be honest...perhaps communicate better with each other? Concentrate on say, me, and draw us away from the battleship? I always do that with my gunboat. Also, a gunboat cant shake a gunboat once its on your tail.
Admittedly though, a gunboat is my best fighting vessel...
Shortly after that, I got destroyed utterly by two liberty gunboats from the sso| About 3 minutes of me dodging and trying to do damage and i was dead, no questions asked.
If you want tips and such, and my loadout for the Corsair gunboat, feel free to ask in PM:). It is tweaked for my style. Also, ill tell you what guns are good/bad for what purposes, and how to combat smaller vessels, putting them out of action quickly.
But then again, Dab knows quite a bit about the subject too.
EDIT: yes, i noticed that with battleships aswell. Its a shame about MS keeping absolutely all the coding... oh well, i guess. CS whoring is fun if you have bombers and they have bs/cr because they die so fast...
Yes, it was lack of communication. For some reason no one wanted to attack the same thing. Also, you're wrong about the BS, as it had a constant stream of fire on me the entire time.
