Yes... but then they wouldn't fulfill their purpose as bombers. Stronger than fighters, but less manuverable and bigger. We'd have to lower the b/bs for fighters...
I am a long-absent Supreme Commander, Executive Commander, Grand Admiral, Fleet Admiral, and Captain in the mighty Hellfire Legion. I have returned, and am on an urgent mission from Drake Thastus to return the Legion to its former glory, and to claim the galaxy for its own. Only then will I be able to rest.

No. Think a bit. The bombers haves too much regen capability. They should be lowered. A bomber now can cut through a gunboat at ease, and that is not right. The bomber now, how it is, it's just very overpowered. Unlimited ammo, ridiculous regen capacity, and before it had 3 lives (that meant that the bomber would come back always with full b/b). If this is balanced for you... or maybe you like bomber spamming.
I fly a Taiidan bomber, and it is pretty balanced. True, fighters are, I consider, easier than they should be to take down in bombers, but i also know that a gunboat can take down any bomber one on one. The key is, most likely missiles. They have good tracking, and bombers have a hard time dodging them. The loadout on the TBH gunboats has been mostly standardised to what the Mantis gunboat uses which is a combination of missile spam and standard gun power. I have seen the results of this. Bombers have enough regens to have full hull, but they end up with no weapons. Not exactly great for the bombers.
Also, a battleship shouldn't have a chance against 5 bombers...To think that they should is ridiculous...BUT fighters should be more effective. Again though, its all about strafe. If you change direction just before you get within 100 m of the bomber pilot using strafe, chances are you wont get hit by novas. But the best way to avoid them is to never face a bomber pilot head on.
Oh, and the Taiidan has 80 botts and batts. Dont know about the Rhineland one though, haven't flown one yet.
Whoah, 'capship whoring', now 'bomber spamming' ?... The three death rule has now gone, so that goes in
favour of the capital ship fliers.
We can't have it all ways guys. There are several factions, who technically have no access to the Taidan, or
the Rheinland bomber, from a roleplay point of view, but seem to get hold of them. And there are those who
have made it a big part of their fleets as they use very few battleships, and have the RP to use it.
The GB's role is anti fighter and bomber, and needs fighter back-up, if its going to take on a pair of bombers,
because you had it in battle thinking it was there to kill off capships, then tactical review is called for again ...
What next ? 'Cruiser pimping' ? ...
The rules shifted in favour of the big boys, now you want to nerf the bomber ?
Lets slow down here a little please.

I flew the Rheinland Bomber. If I recall correctly, it haves 135 b/b (!). That's more than double of an average vhf (66 from sabres). Think a bit. When I said 5 bombers, I was meaning that all of them are standing still, or almost still.
EDIT: If the Taiidan haves only 80, it's ok. But the Rheinland Bomber is much too powerful, due to it's regen capacity.

Actually, I believe that Igiss stated that the Taiidan Bomber should be considered a civvie bomber, at least until a regular civvie bomber comes out.
Maybe it should be sold on a civie station then...just a thought.
But I do understand, most factions need a bomber now. Especially the unlawful side, because of the military factions preference of capital ships.
But, those pirate factions should excercise restraint until more models get added. I dont think those with no relations with either Rhineland or the Corsairs should have access to a bomber until more models come out unless they have comprehensive RP to back up its aquisition.
Quote:Having two torpedo slots, this ship is a decent competitor of Rheinland Bomber while being significantly
cheaper. Taiidan Bombers are built by Gas Miners Guild (GMG). They originate from an alien ship that was
found in a remote Sigma system.
Info card from the Taiidan. Nothing about being a civvie version, or infact a Corsair one. Its positioning on
Yaren is the problem. Basically anyone in the 'Oucast Alliance' would not have access to it.
Then again the Blood Dragons are supposed to be financed by the GMG, so theres a reason for one or two
to be able to say they could have it ... And so we go on.
The Corsairs and the GMG are major enemies, so are the Outcasts and the GMG. So apart from where its sold
neither should get it ... Getting confused now ?
It need to be re-positioned as a Junker based ship, and possibly a civvie based faction too. Remove any doubt
as to it's origins, and where and who can have it.
Currently it is only non-military craft in it's class, and needs looking at now ...

Good point there, it is confusing. Some people go with where its sold dictates who can buy it, others look at it from the point of view as what the infocard says. The first group say that you can't get it within RP because you shouldn't be able to dock on the base, but the second group say that you can get the bomber directly from sources stated on the Infocard, whether or not its sold on that base.
It is confusing...especially when one side says yes and the other side says no, and then more factors affecting potential buyers are discovered.
