I can't drop it again, or I'll lose my guard standing. I can't undock because I'll have the corsair guard ID and the hogosha IFF in a corsair capital. So here is what's gonna be done. Will settle to status quo, but this is really just terrible.
I know from past experience that if you don't have the faction listed in your rep you can still get a rep with said faction and droprep SHOULD drop that rep and not any other. This has happened to me by doing missions while working on a guard rep. I musta used droprep close to 30 times before all was said and done. Big pain.
Some servers have made droprep free but I didn't hear the main one did, I could be wrong. But if your Corsair Guard is flashing then that do sound like a glitch.
Hope you get it worked out.
Worst case though if you lose your guard ID that's only about 6 missions from getting it back to max from +6. If were me, and I had the extra money, I'd keep going with the droprep.

Patience is something you admire in the car behind you, but not in the one in front.
If I had the extra money I would have already, but trading plutonium at 4m profit per run (8 jumps each way) doesn't make enough money to try that, and admins REALLY don't like to reimburse.
First, The "Invisible Rep" Bug appears when you're Full Green and have IFF of a Faction which is Not in your Rep Sheet, because you haven't seen any NPCs or Players of that Faction. In those Cases, Others will see you with That faction's IFF, but you won't see it on your Rep Sheet, while the Highest Rep on the sheet is not flashing.
It's Completely Safe to /droprep in these Situations, as it'll change your Rep depending on what your IFF actually Is, not what the Ship's Rep Sheet might look like.
So, If you have Hogosha IFF and because of that, Your Sair Guard is not flashing, Go ahead and /droprep, it'll fix your Problem.
Also, from my personal experience, the /droprep Command lowers your rep In the Same Order they turned full. Means, if you've gotten 8 Full Green Reps before getting the Sair Guard, You'll have to /droprep and relog 8 times to get the Sair Guard IFF that you want. And well... Considering the fact that Guard IFF is completely Optional, many don't even bother with /droprep, and keep their Normal IFF with the Guard ID they've bought.
' Wrote:It is cheaper to go to take missions for the Faction you want to drop and abort them. Take some Hogosha missions and when that drops below Corsair Guard if the Guard aint your new IFF then there must be another one you cant see
It's actually a Really Bad idea! Read the main post, it says the Char is a Corsair Capital Ship. It might be "Cheaper", but Not "Better" to fly a Sair Cap (Or even a Light Fighter) all the way to Kusari to shoot Hogosha NPCs...
/droprep is there for a reason, and it doesn't cost much. If someone has enough cash to buy and Equip a Capital Ship, then spending 350k on a Droprep won't be a serious problem.
' Wrote:Didnt say shoot Hogosha but to take missions for them, then abort and it drops the rep. But fair point not a good idea to head up in a Cap Ship
That is still a bad idea as it will also start to drop rep for allied factions, albeit less so. It would be hard to reach a Hogosha base in a Corsair capship though, since there's none where those capships may go.
