If there are that many moslims, then I am fine with the fact that there will be a mosque. It seems that some people are having trouble with the fact that times are changing. The world isn't split in parts anymore, all people live together these days, and as far as I'm concerned that's beautiful. Isn't it wonderful to have a church in one street and a mosque in the next? That people from different cultures can live peacefully together? If it wasn't for some stubborn consevative people, humanity might perhaps have created their own utopia on earth!

I reapeat:
Make love, not war.
whats funny is southpark was making fun of one of the muslim gods Muhamad or something like that, and its a known fact that afte the first of like 2-3 episodes, they got death threats for putting him in a bear mascot suit (since nobody is allowed seeing him). So, they censored him, and bleeped out his name, and what was funny is tom cruise stole his power of not being made fun of, and Tom Cruise then got censored XD. Even funnier, they said his name several dozen times, so half the episode were bleeps.
The point here is, Muslims (extremist or not) cant take a joke when it comes to religion. Catholics (for the most part) can, Christians can, and every other religious statures I seen (hell, down the road we have the CHINESE CHURCH OF CINCINNATI!) , not once has anyone threatened to firebomb my house because I made a joke about their god.
If a Mosque was slapped up in harrison, I'd start looking for a house elsewhere. Its stuff I dont need nor want to deal with, and like I said, if they want to practice their religion, great. Just dont do it around me. Putting a Mosque in harrison (in my case), thats doing it around me. We already have enough mexicans, we dont need shaw coved women and ahkmed shouting "AIYE AYIE AYIEEEE"
Oh, and I went to school with a islamic and a muslim, theyre actualyl pretty cool people, they did their thing, and instead of doing anyhting publically, every morning they went to a private room (upon request of the principal and their first bell teacher) to do their prayers. Even the teacher didnt stay in the room, it was empty, and for that short time, devoted to them. That, in my opinion, is perfectly fine and natural. Of course, it was for less than a handful of students, but they allowed it as a special case since therewere a total of 5 muslim kids for 1000+ other students.
Americans aren't stupid, we are just self-centered & spend too much time relying on infotainment pundits, newsbunnies & infobabes to give us news...problem is, we don't get much real news. what we get instead is whatever tabloid trash that will grab the most ratings for the moment.
All this stupid mosque hubub is just that: stupid hubub...& if you get sucked into the racist/anti-muslim "not on my ground zero!" style parrot-chanting, then, you're just an idiot.
Muslims have freedom of religion just like everybody else, & if some of 'em wanna build up rundown building into a cultural center, then they have every right to do so.
Plus, considering that it's not even gonna be ON ground zero, it's not a plausible argument a person can use.
Hell, if I wanted to, I could use the same stupid logic & say that since Christianity is guilty of producing groups of wild-eyed nutbags that have a history of blowing up federal buildings & abortion clinics, then ALL christians are wild-eyed nutbags & are the exact same as the muslim "terrorists"...just a different color.
The only real difference I can tell between the christian bible & the koran (aside from cultural) is that Mary plays a bigger role in the koran than jesus did & the fact that Jesus doesn't play a starring role in everything he appears in just pisses christians off to no end.
This whole thing isn't about a mosque on ground zero, it's just an excuse to argue christians vs. muslims for the sake of higher ratings that help the network sponsors get the highest viewership for their commercials during the breaks.
BTW, arguing christians vs. muslims is exactly like arguing picard vs. kirk or SW 4-6 vs. SW 1-3
Be it religion, politics or pop culture, It's all just the same meaningless fanboy crap.
Despite the Towers, Pentagon, and Penn. farm field I do not have much against Islam. In fact, Islam preserved the West's ancient accomplishments, which allowed for the West's enlightenment starting around 1300s and on. However, if they desire to bring their views upon us via fire and brimstone they must realize it shall be a true pity for all sides. They need a reformation.

As for what you're saying, you've offered nothing to back up or support your claims. That might help any point you wish to make, as to me it's lost in "conspiracy theorist" land at the moment.
This entire thread was created to throw stones at Americans and Christians ... so don't try to back away from your assault on us. Own up to who and what you are ... a hater of Americans.
And I think Agmen did a pretty good job of providing you some links on the subject of the Imam and his backing.

There are those that would argue out of spite ... those that would argue for the sake of argument ... and those that argue based on what they feel is right or wrong.
Keep that in mind Enojado. It depends more on the subject at hand than the person whom you are agreeing or disagreeing with.

There's a significant difference between your picture here and Agmen's. Those holding signs in your picture are not calling for "beheadings" or other forms of death to those they disagree with.

If such a tradegy happened in another country the response would not be a debate. I, for one, hope the discourse continues. It allows for a better understanding of Islam and Christianity.
Overall, it shall draw a crisp line and all shall be able to come to their own conclusions.
There's no debate here. Its just a platform for one person to unleash hate on AMericans.

How do you know who is and is not Christian? Who believes and who does not? Are you the judge of others?

That right there isn't a valid argument. That's discrimination, and, in the second poster's instance, a gross generalization.
I'm just shaking my head, Zapp. If you consider the second picture, the one you posted, to be equal to the first one, the one I posted, then I think you need to step back a minute. That back poster - Islam=Terrorism, Hatred, and Violence.... I don't see any comments in the first picture about, Love those who Mock Islam or Give Flowers to those who insult Islam.
Instead, I see Butcher and Behead and Kill.
South Park is parody and satire television. They regularly have Jesus on there as a character. I haven't heard any comments about death threats to the creators of that show because of that. Oh, but we'll put Mohammad on there and lo....
Just because we can be tolerant, SHOULD we be tolerant, when the message really is NOT all about peace and togetherness and love? I'm not saying that our history, going back to the times of the Templars is exemplary. Hell, I just recently discovered some things that clearly point out how Roosevelt - Theodore, not Franklin - was a direct cause of World War Two in the Pacific. I'm just looking at things that go back to within my lifespan.
Are the hands of America clean? No. We have our own home-grown idiots, too. But we put Timmy to death for his crimes. Time to do the same for those who tried in '93, and that keep trying to do so today. The recidivism rate is zero when you're looking at the roots, not at the blades of grass.

I've only read the first post, and I'll only reply on that specific one.
The people who took down the World Trade Center did this in the name of the Islam, so building a mosque near that place where all those people died (in the name of the Islam) could re-open closed wounds. If Christians killed a whole bunch of innocent people in the name of Christ and a few years later build a church near that specific place it would cause the exact same chaos.
Thing is, people need to have something or somebody to blame it all on. Thats what we're all doing nowadays, pointing fingers.
' Wrote:Islam isn't your enemy. The only enemy you have is your own ignorance and fear; conquer those, and you have no reason to hate or discriminate. Without those things, the world will be a much better place.
Believe it or not, but I disagree. It almost made me think you were now pointing fingers to. What would make the world a better place? How about not having idiots flying planes in the name of their faith?
I'm no American, I'm no believer of a specific faith. I believe what I believe and thats it, and I believe that those terrorist jerks are spitting on the Islam. And those true believers of the Islam are only complaining how the Americans are discriminating them, while those terrorists are the cause for all of it.
Fight the cause, not the problem.
Just to clear your thoughts that I'm a racist (in case your thinking that right now) no I'm not a racist. I meet people daily from all sorts of cultures and I purely judge them on their personality and actions.
The Islam is getting a pounding right now yes, but always keep in mind that it comes from both sides. You know how many times I'm being judged by my skin color? Do you ever hear people discriminating 'White People'?
Your not alone on this world, not everyone is against the Islam. There's two sides on this, be the better man and try to respect both sides.
I hope these words can bring you back to rest, getting all fuzzled up about the whole world is a bad thing to do.
We are all related to one another and we all descended from Noah and his three sons (Japheth, Ham and Shem). After the Tower of Bable their descendants went in all different directions.
All the Arab nations and Israel are descendants of Shem. The term Semite comes from Shem's name. All Middle Eastern civilizations are his descendants. Abraham's descendants include both Arabs and Jews. Both Mohammad and Jesus are from Abraham's line. The fighting between Arabs and Israel is a family feud.
Japheth's descendants are called Indo-European because he and his descendants moved northward. Japheth's son Magog (also known as Scythians) and his family settled in what is modern day Kazakhstan. Another son Meshech is considered ancestor of the Georgians and considered the father of Moscow. Another son, Gomer, father of the Galls, Greeks and much of modern day Europe. Interesting to note is that Magog is written in prophecy as the army that begins WWIII (the invading forces against Israel).
Ham's descendants moved into the African continent and include Libya, Ethiopia, the Sudan, etc.
Noah himself is thought to have moved further eastward and believed to have started the first Chinese dynasty.
I've been doing some research lately ... and its quite fascinating to learn the origins of various cultures. Especially to learn how interrelated we really are. Ever heard the theory of the six degrees of separation?
So digest on that for a bit and do some research of your own.
