So, yeah, didn't Liberty have blueprints of the ship or something? You'd think they'd keep stuff like that and try to rebuild the most advanced Battleship ever made, no?
The same could apply for the Spyglass, but I think the HF destroyed all of the blueprints in existence or something.
Yes, would be awesome. But all ur spyglass r belong to us.
But make the Osiris available only to those with permission from the LN.
Or even better, make Osiris LSF only.
I say give LPI an Osiris or two.. why not?
If Order, Corsairs, LN, LSF can have it why not LPI too they need something to kill all those pirates.. they need it more then LN who have BS that is almost same as Osiris but then again..
..now on serious note, only one Osiris, original one was advanced with cloak and everything uber , one from story I guess.. every other Osiris made after it is just plane simple battleship.. original blueprints are lost or it's too expensive for Order to make one uber like that..
..anyway Liberty have their own battleships, maybe all advance stuff was implemented in existing battleships because they got smart and got idea that it is possible to put them on any other battleships with less work and smaller price
Edit: Spyglass.. really never thought about it ( It's import xD.. I don't want to see it each day in Liberty with everyone flying it.. that ship is best to stay "hidden" )
The Order apparently stole the working prototype and destroyed all of the plans. Not that I believe that hugely intelligent scientists forget all of what they've written down just because they cant read it over again. Nor do I believe it was significantly emphasised in the published but admittedly incomplete history of Sirius written by the original designers of this game.
Then again, if it were open to all, I bet we'd see many LN Osiris' lolling about, all being state-of-the-art experimental prototypes with jump drives, cloaking, morphing like transformers etc etc.
Restriction of ships to your own ID by the official faction of that ID is currently against the rules also. An official faction cannot prevent someone of that ID doing something which isn't against canon (though, with the TCG, one wouldn't be so sure of the precedent). None the less, [LN] wouldn't be able to restrict who got the Osiris, were it open to the ID, in the same way that it cannot restrict who has dreadnoughts. The spyglass falls under the same bracket.
LSF ID doesnt permit battleships also.
I think the main issue is, people need to stop stealing battleships from Liberty. Its quite unrealistic to steal a ship that large, as well as destroy or pilfer all the design schematics too. And, twice, to two different top-secret designs? And it hasn't happened to the other houses? Come on, Liberty can't be that incompetant.
I just read info on Osiris again after long time ago (part of it).. It was stolen by defecting Order agents. I guess those agents were the scientists who had major role in creating Osiris.. so anyone left behind lacked knowledge about Osiris..

It's not like everyone would know about it in Liberty.. it was top secret , few knew.. It was enough that few of those that knew escaped with all info and left others behind..
Those that left knew some but not enough to build whole ship..
Considering level of research put into Osiris, all blueprints were classified to certain members of Liberty goverment (who weren't numerous). Who were either infected (and killed by the Order) or defected (the Order founders). Blueprints (as well as certain nomad-based parts of ship like cloaking device) were designed by the Order of Cincinattus, while construction was done by oversight of Liberty Navy & LSF (who supplied materials and were watching for any possible information leaks).
In that way the Order of Cincinattus got infected because they were working with nomads mainly. Later infection was spreading to LSF & LN high ups (who were mostly the ones who knew about Osiris).
Defecting (non-infected) part of the Order of Cincinattus managed to steal Osiris, destroy blueprints using covert agents and flee away.
With some time they managed to find Toledo, as well as establish some relations with certain Liberty officials who were indirectly supplying the Order with information, resources and humans...
I've always assumed that when Order agents stole the prototype, they destroyed data containing the blueprints of the Osiris. So Liberty scientists couldn't reproduce it easily.
Also, there isn't any lore that states Liberty continued with the Osiris design. Maybe the goverment deemed it to be inferior to the Liberty Dreadnought and ditched the project. Perhaps they're working on an improvement on the original Osiris project. Who knows.
