If a person rapes another inRP here, they are charged with rape.
A woman in the UK cannot be charged with rape.
Rape requires penile penetration, which a woman can't do, therefore a woman can never rape another person.

If we went on common sense, they could.

I know this is pretty irrelevant, or is it? maybe, I dunno anymore.

the FBI actually just 'redefined' rape for the purpose of criminal convictions.

Women in the United States can be charged with Rape now. U.K. should get with it.

On a more related note: I think if two parties agree to Roleplay a court case, criminal or civil, it doesn't really matter if there's 'forum written laws' to back them up.

It's roleplay, not everything needs to be laid out in writing imho.

while it is obviously a immpossible task to make all that law maybe just maybe someone could put together some simplified law (in the vein of FL) to accompish players/factions game needs.
then at least we would all know our boundaries.

Commercial law etc is non-existent on the forums really.

I don't have access to the laws.
I don't know if I have broken any.
There is no way for me to find out about the laws.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.
Or is it?
No one knows because no one has bloody written it in law on the forums.

Even if it was no excuse, the courts have to be able to provide the laws if asked for them.
Or do they?
No one knows because no one has bloody written it in law on the forums.

Without being able to obtain the laws, you cannot be expected to abide by them, much like a child is not responsible for their actions as they do not know what they did wrong.
Or does that apply?
No one knows because no one has bloody written it in law on the forums.

I think you need to stop crying.

It is when the consequences affect the roleplay of a quarter of the factions in the game.

I think that this is not the place for +1, unless you actually have arguments for that opinion.

Please come back when you are fined more than your total faction worth.
Or threatened with destruction via an angry navy.
All due to a court case that has no grounding.

I anticipate you will want to cry.

It is not powergaming if you have the possibility to play it out.
You got fined? What forces you to pay the fine? What forces you to not pay the fine?

And why should Houses and corporations respect the law at all times? States and companies in real life break the law everyday, bend the rules to their advantage. Why should it be different in game?

That's not part of the topic either Enoch. We haven't posted anything in the trial thread.
We're trying to make a point here, that the laws that trials are being based on are not accurate enough to allow for such consequences.

That's my point. Houses and even some corporations are sovereign entities. They may very well not care about laws and standard procedures. They are the law.

Now, it's not necessary fair from an inRP or ooRP point of view.

lI'll put a little more information here. basically a few threads. I will leave my comments out of this post and will let you all make your own conclusion.

but I will pose a question. If the legal claim has no basis? then what were these threads for?
