If you remove the rear things with the exception of the one that extends straight back it would look better, in my opinion. The things on the front could be comm arrays so I think they fit.
The model itself is really nice, it reminds me of the Nanny ships in Starlancer:Dalthough it's not as blocky as that is, but their role and size is quite similar, if not the same. It's design would also suit it's needs ( with the gray texture, it resembles neutrality )
I've been dreaming of flying a ship like this for long now:D
About what schlurbi said, and for a "large"hospital ship , I found a pic of a model you made long ago Jinx, and thanks to Akka for saving it for the future:D
Now, this could be a large Hospital ship, while this frigate could be the "first aid unit" , the one which flies in fast and gets out in one piece.
I think this deserves a bump. And seeing that old one again, well I think he may be quite right. This could be the hospital while they other one is the real frigate who gets them out of combat.
I will also admit, much users it won't have no, if I can derive something from the membercount of The Medics, I'd say it isn't the most popular thing. But on the other hand those who will use, will use it often and use it well.
shorten the spiky things at the front, unless they are actually hypodermic space needles.
the fins at the back could be shortened by 75%... they look too flimsy and liable to catch on everything.
if at all possible, could you make me a version of this where the back is the front and the engines are in the hulls of the catarmaran, and the fins are removed completely? cos that would be awesome and i'd pay a bunch to have mah very own yacht.....

I really like your ship designs, this one is excellent too:)
It's definately recognisable as being in your style, it does look zoner-y; but like you say, it's based on a zoner design anyway. I think the textures, contribute to that impression, plus you have made those particular ships iconic.
I can't speak for the rest of cryer, and I thought they might have posted on this topic; but i would certainly want one.
I like the pincer/catamaran thing because it reminds me of forceps; and everyone knows ships that resemble medical instruments are cool, even if they are a little harsh. That said: it almost has a trimaran thing going on, which is also nice. Maybe it's more of a clamp than forceps but you know what I mean. Device like shapes is the thing.
The mask thing is super excellent, that would look fab. I can't believe it's not used more.
Fins are sweet too; my only concern is with the extra polys, I have no idea how much that affects things for other people though; so if it's do-able, more fins=more power.
Massive size, the masks and the silhouette/profile would make this ships' function instantly recognisable I would think; which is also a feature of the design i like.
Obviously Cryer like the idea of med ships and those for specific RP more than PVP, (like, yachts are a preference) and from what I've seen: there are a few groups like the medics, as well as various 'support' characters who would be eager for models of this type.
In RP o'Course Cryer couldn't build something like this themselves, they would need to consult with shipyard people that they know: like Samura, Universal, LN, LPI, or zoners themselves. I'm all for commisioned ships in RP, and collaborative builds.
Sorry for being so slow, and well done.
- there won t be a med frigate in 4.86 ( at least not at the beginning - maybe during a mini autoupdate though )
- i don t know what faction can use such a ship - and i don t really wanne add another zoner ship to the mod - or we can call it "discover the zoners 24/7 mod"
- i m not quite convinced that a ship like that does anything else but add the novelty of the design, which wears off quite quickly - leaving a bitter taste of either a useless ship - or players who frequently ask for pvp improvements
