Alright, anyone who is involved in Tau-23 fights, and that's a lot of people, knows how awesome Cali guns are.
He/She also knows how literally -pathetic- Java station guns are.
Cali has a large number of very fast Pulse class guns that can easily keep a BS shield down.
I know that because I'v seen an IMG Carrier's shield being kept down.
They are also fast enough to hit dodging VHF's, not to mention Bombers, Pytho's shield is always down when near Cali.
Now, Java station has guns that are so pathetic that they can't even scratch a Sabre.
If a Gunship comes and stands in front of Java, Java will stand in front of that gunship and do nothing.
I mean, it shoots something, but it does no damage.
One 101st member has a habit of coming to Java in his Sabre and sitting on the antenna.
And he can do that because Java can't shoot him there.
So he sits and laughs. In a VHF!
Today we had an Outcast raid party, some 3 VHF's, GB and a Dread.
Dread was sitting 500m away from Java, shooting everything and feeding smaller ships with bots.
Now, I don't want Cali to lose it's awesome guns. I want Java to get at least 50% of Cali's power.
If Cali can keep a BS shield down, Java should at least keep a Destroyer shield down.
But I'd shoot for equality, because enemies ought to keep away from each other's bases.
So, in short, can we -please- get some of those Pulse guns mounted on Java?
We don't need guns that do hull damage, just shield damage to keep those big ships at least 2k away from Java.
It's a station after all, and to be there, it should be able to defend itself. Just like Cali station can.
Cali has weapon platforms around so it will still be more powerful anyway.
I hope some Outcasts will give support to this request as well, at least for the sake of fairness.

Java base could be upgraded in the future. It is becoming a rather significant mining operation, and the look/use of a small little outpost would be better replaced with a larger station...upgrading it up to a size of LD-14, adding more refineries, docking ports, gun turrets
In A RP,way , yes indeed, at least It doesn't seem right to have a station the size of cold bay depot.
But reguardless some want an awsome battle-station or some fancy stuff of the like, there is some limits not to break
Thecnicaly, well yes at some sort maybe some combat platform to say the least. but you know what makes the difference are the player incarnating the vessel of the various event going on there, not the static bot managed object.
And your not the only one who either requested that or wished that... While it is no wonder that its the opposite to the one attacking nearby.
We could up all station defenses properly so this silly base camping has once and for all an end.
I agree. To many bases are a joke, and realisticaaly would be gone/destroyed by now with the guns they have. It is fine in RP to tell a player to keep away from a base, but if they know that base is useless, and cannot harm them? well sorry, but a dread could sit and pound it all day, until it just ran out of energy/shields,and went poof. All bases IMO should be to atleast drop a BS's shields,and/or kill it out right if it camps close by. Maybe we will see this in 4.86. After al 4.85 up'd alot of bases,so time for the rest.
Comparing Cali to Java...
Cali also has some nasty weapons platforms, which can easily damage VHF/Bombers.
Java has become a place where many enemies decide to just dock-camp.
I would be happy seeing the station's turrets being improved and there being two weaponplatforms added.
The problem aren't the fights, the problem is the stationcamping.
And if you think that Java is too close to the normal trading route - well, Cali isn't far from that too.
I wouldn't even be unhappy if Java was moved a bit to the west.
And I hope the station will become a bit bigger in .86, it looks ridiculous at the moment, considering how important it is.
Until then, I can still work on a billboard saying ''no loitering'' ....
Where there thing to shoot, there shooter, that the law of nature ,, ahem of discovery.
But reguardless, its just evolved as a behavior, people gather there to fight, either on A or B side, but I exclude =CR= And IMG who are already residents of this precise installation.
Despite that, it will take a while before people lose this behavior, if it was to be lost, but adding guns seem as a dishounorable way to deal with the situation.
Bases need less defences so people stop hanging around them.
One example is Omicron Minor. The Order complain cause the Keepers aren't active enough, when the Order are all too happy to sit at the Isis and do nothing, it's the best defended base in Sirius so they just sit there all day away from any real danger.
Both Java and Cali possess sufficient defences to scare off anything enough.
