I'm flying around in a gb with a snipe loadout consisiting of pulses and razors. Then in a fight, I target someone and fire a pulse + razor combo at him in. He's in a bomber/ fighter. The pulses hit, and then a second or less later the razors hit as well.
I see the shield go down to the pulses and then the razors hit the deshielded bomber/ fighter a second or less later. I see the razors impact on the hull. Yet the bomber/ fighter doesn't go poof. instead, it just flies on like the razors were never fired. no damage, nothing.
At first I thought i must have accidentally shot a gun or something. but this happens to me a lot. too often to be gun hits.
So whats the deal? is it lag that causes the razors to hit the shield on my target's side because it hasn't registered the pulse hit yet or something?
Is there someway to fix this without having to wait over a second to fire the razors after the pulses? since by that time the dehielded target is evading like crazy.
Umm, razor projectile is smaller than the effect or something like that. Only the wery centre of that white ball actualy registers as a hit on enemy ship.
Happens loads to me too. There definately appears to be a delay between when the pulse hits and the shield bar disappears to when a Razor hit on the hull will actually register. And I'm using double pulse, so it's definately removing the shield. It's an immense annoyance, and has definately cost me several of the little blue messages that form my sole income for my hunter characters.
I now try to fire my pulse volley earlier so as to counter the problem, but that makes it easier for the target to dodge.
It's something where your game lags and thinks you've hit them, where the server denies you have.
I've had this with SNACs on caps, I've clearly hit them, but nothing registered. And again, I once saw someone SNAC a deshielded fighter, but they claim they missed, and the fighter is fine.

Happens to me far too often.
Not as much with fighters. Mostly transports and gunboats.
