And pauldrons and gauntlets. And armour you could wear over clothing. I made some fun combinations of clothing and different pieces of different armours like that in Morrowind, looked good too.

Oh hell yeah, including the ability to wear robes over armour, and pauldrons over robes.
xD

I'd say it'd sell better being more like Morrowind than Oblivion, just hope the devs see it too.
Morrowind was fun, with all the combinations and such. But after you hit a certain level, you were effectively a demigod in your powers and abilities, and the enemies just weren't much of a threat.
My last time through I had ... boots of speed, a belt of levitation, and something else such that I was flying everywhere.
Don't get me wrong - after a while you can reach that stage in Oblivion as well. I just started a new character because I realized I haven't played it in a couple of years. It's interesting, because now I'm playing it on a high def TV so I'm seeing detail that I never had seen before.

What I was told on the TES forums was that Morrowind was a one of a kind place in the TES 'verse and that all other continents are pretty much LOTR clones.
So... have fun with TES V.
I dunno. I found both Oblivion and Morrowind to be devoid of life. The only thing that kept me going in Morrowind was the unique setting. Using modern day engines they could do wonders with a backdrop like that. Giant walking insects carrying people on their backs? **** yeh man.

That's bullcrap. The rest of the world isn't a LOTR clone. Cyrodil is because that's what it is; a fully human place. The rest are fairly different.

This.
Morrowind is an awesome game, Oblivion a good game. But with mods they both become so much more.
