While trading today in Tau 31 region, I was fired at by Armed Forces - Bahamut, at 1430 EST. It was an entirely unprovoked incident. His excuse for the shot was that he was bored. When I tried to reason with him, he said that he was protecting for free and to give him a break. Well he can take all the break he needs for all I care but the reason he is there is to maintain peace and it does not give him any right to fire, even a single shot for no reason, at a law abiding trader. His duty is duly recognized but this is not the way a military commander should treat a trader.
I wasent sure of what action to take so I just left the matter there and I am reporting it to my seniors. A reporter on the scene has taken a shot which has been included in this report.

Today I made another humanitarian run for the Nayehiya. I first ventured to Tau-31 where RepEx-Shipping|069 and an independant Evil_Joker, agreed to come with me. We carried collectively 13.5 thousand tons of food and medical supplies. The people of the Nayehiya are with our thoughts.

I am pretty sure that is not a rule... If a pirate asks you to pay or die, then that's pretty much your choices. Pay, die, run away, or stay docked forever. You only have to discontinue trading if you die. You can't be considered dead because you didn't pay a pirate... If the pirate kills you, then you are dead, and you can't trade there for 24 hrs.

Given the controversial nature of events in Tau-31 relating to the Harris-Macduff trade run, I'd like to ask all RepEx member to avoid this area of space for the time being. Pirate attacks are one concern but certain other incident which can only be described as 'Deus Ex Machina' in nature lead me to assert that this is not a good place for our people.
Please find other routes. I or Merc or any other experienced memeber of RepEx can provide you with alternatives.
I have fully set up myself in a Large Train, and I am now sitting in Tao 31. ...Which I will move out of ASAP because of what you just set. I am in need of a good traderoute, so if anybody has an idea for a L. Train, please tell me.
Thanks,

PS, tell me what you want me to do about a securtiy ship.

RepEx Security Divisions are in need of new pilots. You fit the bill. I have been informed that you are cleared, should you accept it, for immediate recruitment into the ranks. Because you funded the acquisition of your own Merchant Vessel you are entitled to the 25 million credits offered for new Security officers. You can then select an additional call number from those not yet taken, you should confirm it here first. You should then create your new Pilot Profile under the auspices of RepEx security: RepEx-Security|xxx. Then you can arrange to receive your 25 million credits and full access to the RepEx Armoury where you will be outfitted for active duty. Please note that all RepEx Security carry the Mercenary ID, rather than the Republican ID, though their rep should still indicate Republican.
