Well, rumor has it things change from one mod version to another.

Ships have to be got rid of, ship get replaced, prices change, ship usage rights change, etc.

It has happened before no?

Ship models sometimes get replaced, but we never "get rid" of a ship entirely. That would cause too many problems. Usually, in terms of ship-usage, you'll be notified if you absolutely need to swap out your ship. But the Barge seems to be staying mostly open-use, to those with the proper IDs. I haven't seen any notifications for Barge-changes come 4.86.
