Why is it that the Liberty terrorist faction retained its terrorist state, when the terrorist factions from all the other houses got downgraded to pirates?
Does anyone else think its strange?
I would think that the Gaians, or the Unioners have just as much right, if not more, to the same status as the Xenos...
Gaians -> Eco terrorists
Unioners -> pff... socialistic underground?
Blood Dragons -> Political (Same as Bunshuh and GC)
They all have 2 things in common.
They have causes
They kill, rob, smuggle, fight lawfuls to stay alive.
Regular pirates lack only that first element. They are unlawful simply because they don't see an alternative for living. Liberty Rogues for example : they are unemployerd, pirate, but don't feel like nobly fightiing the corrupt government. As long as they get a steady loot influx - they couldn't care less.
Dunno about the others, but I have hung about Islay, and, where does it say that the Gaians thieve?
That is part of the question...the IDs have muddied the water about what these 'terrorist' factions really do.
And, the xenos hate outsiders. That's their stick, Gaians hate bretonian govvies, and BMM because of the truly abominable ecologic policies they have....the others...are trying to get something out of Rhienland...
Why can't they be the 'Xenos' of their particular houses?
Maybe there are: Blood dragons are politicall terrorist, blaming Kusari's corrupption on foreign influence. Partially Bundshuh too. Unioners lost their jobs because of the foriegn competition on the market.

what exactly do you mean by "maybe there are:"
you threw me there...
Has anyone of you thought about, that "Terrorist" and "Pirate" does insult poltical motivated people, cause they will call themself "Liberators", "Independents", "Resistants" or "Patriots". If i would play Bundschuh or Blood Dragon i would deny the Pirate and Terrorist ID. Means for the moment i cannot play these factions, cause i need an ID.
of course it does.
but, I think it is worse to have all the 'criminals' of sirius stuck under one blanket of 'pirate'
because, in a lot of cases, they obviously are not.
Yeah, but then again, near enough all of the Terrorist factions, especially Unioners and Red Hessians, have declined into piracy to finance their revolutions. However, some of them have forgotten their roots, like the two mentioned, and have degenerated into base pirates.
I think making a terrorist-like ID for an organization in each house would be good. It would basically be as most people here have said; Xenos for Liberty, Gaians for Bretonia, Farmers Alliance or Blood Dragons for Kusari (I'd say Blood Dragons, as they are trying to get the true Shogun's descendants back in power and remove the corruption from Kusari), and Bundschuh for Rheinland. Of course, the Blood Dragons have cruisers, which shouldn't be available to terrorists, which is why I think Farmer's alliance could be the Kusari terrorists instead.
So if this were implemented I'd say it would be best if the 4 house's terrorist factions were restricted to bombers/fighters/freighters (There are some pseudo-gunboats available like the Turanic Raider's Freighter) so we don't just have a bunch of people grabbing those alignments so they can run around in capships and kill everything in sight. But I do think that the Blood Dragon/Farmer's Alliance and Gaian IDs should still allow piracy. Xenos don't pirate, and Bundshchuh are funded by 'New Berlin Scholars' (basically from a trader char), but Blood Dragons, Farmer's Alliance, and Gaians have to fund themselves via piracy (could be wrong in the FA/Gaian cases) because they don't have those kind of supporters backing them.
The difference between these 4 and the Red Hessiens/Unioners is that they don't pirate, or simply pirate enough to fund their terrorist activities. Red Hessiens and Unioners are now just pure pirates, out for greed and cash. This is even explained in a rumor or News on Bruchsal (Bundschuh base) in the Red Hessien's case, and is the reason why the Hessiens and Bundschuh are no longer as 'close' as they once were.
