A few years ago I came across a mod with dynamic economy. It was having kind of a serverside program running. Price of commodity changed from day to day depending on supply and demand. Certain bases would demand certain goods which again produced certain other goods using the goods you sold there. I am not sure how this was done but surely someone else in here could tell you. I found that this system really encouraged more trading, reason I say this is that I feel most people are mining on here and in seem to be clustered into the same places in sirius. However an dynamic economic system would encourage the use of most of sirius.
All of you people may disagree with me. But it is just an idea/suggestion to improve an already great mod the way I see it. I also appologize for my bad english as I am not a native speaker.
Personally i would like to see more costly upgrades for everything. For example i would like to see 13k shields for fighters that cost 25k, then 15k shields that cost 50k and so forth upwards of 250k. Those upgrades are not suppose to be common, they are suppose to be unique that only few have just like the cap armor 8. I simply would like to see more opportunities, not just stop once you max out your fighter with only few mill. This will hopefully make people think twice before cheating also.
I would also like to see difference in speeds between classes. A light fighter should not have the same regular speed as a train.
Upscale the size of the systems (such as O81) so the battleship is not the size of a planet. Probably would require tons of modding so its not that important.
At last and most importantly: GET RID OF THE DARN MOD MANAGER. Make installation of the patch as simple as downloading DiscoveryMod486.zip, extract the zip out to a DiscoveryMod486.exe, double click the DiscoveryMod486.exe file, click Yes i would like to patch Freelancer to Discovery mod 4.86. and watch it extract your files. This is not only to make installation simpler however to eliminate the chance of accidental cheating for newbies. This way people will have to go out of their way to cheat as all the goodies such as the speed mod is not available to them right on their screen.
An ingame stash-box (general or personal) or more developed a "post office"-station system. I guess a basic prove of concept is already in the Game with the /pimpship and the /givecash command(s), that are in my view very related functions.
Would there be any way to make Carriers have the ability to launch NPC fighters/bombers?... I mean it seems kind of silly to call them carriers, when they can't.
Could be something as simple as a console code....

Make it a set limit as to how many can be in use at one time (depending on the size of the carrier),
but allow choice as to the ratio between fighters and bombers.
Give each ship launched a relaunch timer of say 45 minutes....

I would kill to be able to launch Nyx and Pythos out of my Zephyr!
And... Speaking of the IMG, why don't the IMG use IMG ships? Everyone else uses faction ships... but you never see a IMG NPC in a faction ship...

Specifically, capital armors I and II.
They are only slightly less expensive than their Universal counterparts (same armor multiplier) yet take up ten times more space. they're almost not worth buying, so what good are they?
IMO Armor upgrades should have a single upward progression of protection/space/cost. The left below is the current chart, the right are with the changes highlighted in yellow.
with that change, Capital I and II are also renamed to Universal Armor IX and X since still small enough to fit into heavy bombers, and now better than armor VIII. I also think it would look odd for a bomber to mount capital armor II.

An ice field in Quebec system that you could call Labrador, then it may contain a pirate base called Labrador City base, so pirate can land somewhere in quebec.
An official Live Communication server, if not elready created, then i think each official House or faction should try having one, immersion is total.
Some reporter or police profiler to builde criminal profile(FBI!), cause i think that criminal should not have right to post their recruitement post here, exept if under cover.

I was thinking about current story evolution of Disco and i came to an idea:
Gallia is nice, but its still about humans what might get boring from a sci-fi view - story is ok, but to meet only humans everywhere... i dont know... :sleep:, and nomads/wild/phantoms tend to be very common last years:)just outdated, dont get me wrong i like it but...
Would be nice to add a new alien race, something from below 1.) or 2.) :
1.) Nonplayable - hostile aliens, somewhere beyond the edge of the known space (a threat but not nomad, or lore related, something new and fresh, random spawn of their ships - rarely dropping some items, not guns! to research, maybe a base or two of them too, something to built on in the next versions of disco)
2.) Playable neutral aliens, also somewhere beyond Sirius, hard to rep with them but possible (12 hours + ,nonstop doing missions), not only invite faction aliens. Al right , i found a place where i can add my ideas.
First i have a slave liner with a slave ID.I`m supposed to rob the Orbital Spa and Cruise but they got the same firepower and armor .That`s not a big deal but the big deal is that if i loot VIPs i can`t sold them anywhere ... Thus i give the idea "When a Slave ID has got any VIPs, Passengers,Tourists ,etc. they will instantly turn into slaves and the Slaver can sell them wherever he/she wants. So 100 VIPs will turn into 500 slaves (as VIPs take 5 slots due to their entourage).
