OOC I have to say ive seen cops use millatary force befor, in LA the bankrobbers had full auto weapons. The police whent to a gun store to get AR15s aka semi auto M16s. In the riots in LA over Rodney King, the national gaurd was given full police powers and LA was in lockdown marshal law was inforced. But thats the few andfar between,

I think in this game the cops would have some decoms, crusers maybe, a bs, but alot of gunboats and the like. I dont see how a police officer would be out in a bs enforcing the law. As a fear factor in a sys that was in rebel or as reinforcment to the navy a bs would be in use by cops. Ijust cant see cops in full gear running around in a APC giving parking tickets in real life. To put SWAT in a hot zone ya but not to cruse the hood.

Well... Honestly, I think the KNF like to pretend they have more power than what they actually do. However! I agree that you are not breaking a rule, but I also agree that on a Police-cop's wage, I don't think he could sum up 390 mill within a life time of police duty...

It's just not possible.

Maybe you could buy a Navy ID instead?... Or! You could go completely rogue and pwn the KNF whenever they stepped near you. Self defense of KNF assaults is only fair, considering how rudely they put you on KOS.

Why? Because it upsets them that you have more money and a feasible RP to allow you such a ship? (RP dependant on if what you said about your feasible RP being actually feasible.) But, then again... It really isn't my place to post here. I've posted my two cents... Still though, if they've KOS'd you, just KOS them right back... It's only fair.

... Or you could 'bribe' them like somebody said... But what good would fueling corruption do if you could eliminate it all together?

I dunno Shago, you're kind of only playing "common sense" when it fits you. You intone that it's common sense to have a ship that overwhelms your enemies. But you ignore the common sense fact that a BS isn't a police vehicle. Sure the ID allows it, but it's nonsense that an independent would have one.

Oh, come on, guys, cut him some slack. The ID allows Battleships, and yes, they'd be pulling everything for the war and all, but come on, we;re nitpicking. And frankly, a player faction telling another player what ship they can and can't fly is, in my mind, a complete bunch of BS (pun not intentional). Besides, we all know that the Kusari BS utterly sucks; if Shago actually has the guts to fly one without fighter support, then by god, let him. If you really, really want to be labeled nitpickers, let him change his ID to Navy. They can do pretty much the same thing as the cops.

The KNF and other faction members may protest, but never Kill Him On Sight, IMHO.

Sorry to disagree with you Jinx, but if they do so, his "captain" would complain with higher authorities and they could even sanction KNF. Like "his captain passes the story to his general who passes to the commander who passes to a minister who passes to the president"...

A faction may have the right to protest in that case, as they have influence, but never attack. If they do so, they would be attacking a member of the same navy/police just because they don't agree with the ship this person is using. That's COMPLETELY OUT-OF-RP, in my opinion.

Arthad, you read my mind. I believe that the KNF had just abused their power and told an INDEPENDENT player what to do. If I would've wanted to follow your orders, I would have joined the clan. And don't question my RP. In this case, my character is a police Admiral/Chief. He has every right to a battleship. And we don't pay for the ship, the force does. Do the cops of today have to buy their own cop car, kevlar, and gun when they join? NO! I also spent my money on this ship without the help of the lousy KNF. I worked for it so that makes it mine to command, not yours.

Another thing, this clan has just opened my eyes to something: Clan power. This clan has just asserted itself to saying who can be a part of Kusari and who can't. They basically came to me and said, "We own Kusari and you can't carry that ID." They made this clear when they ORDERED me to get PERMISSION form their clan leader to own my dang ship. No. Here's an example to explain to those who don't understand:

All of the pirate factions(HF, N, NovaPG, etc) state that they are the only true pirates. Independent characters can not pirate anymore due to their non-affiliation with any clan. This kills the point of being an independent and not taking orders from a superior who gives you limits. This will mean that only clans associated with house militaries and police can hunt pirates and scan traders. I want my Kusari battleship to hunt pirates and scan traders without a superior looking over my back and telling me I'm wrong. THIS IS WHY HE'S INDEPENDENT! If these were the rules, this server would not have as much people playing in it as it does now. I am now demanding that I am to be removed from the KoS list.

The KNF can make up any darn policy they like within their RP.

If they say that all Kusari battleships are needed on the front lines, then they're needed on the front lines.

Anyway, this is sad.

Cops with a Battleship is like a SWAT team with an aircraft carrier. It's ridiculous. Cap-whoring anyone?

what the KNF wants is - so it seems .. british bobbys. ( are they really still unarmed? )

but in a world that knows armed to the teeth civilian vessels - and individuals trading with mini nukes etc. a police - highranking of course - hasn t only got the right to fly a battleship, but its absolutely necessary to do so.

with that in mind - i would rather question the KNF if they would really open fire on a kusari loyal that is performing his duty to the empire? a duty that the KNF as a naval force won t have to look after anymore, which serves them better, cause THEY are probably not involved in hunting minor criminals ( who are still highly dangerous ), but rather putting all their effords into winning the war against bretonia.

KoS you would be a bit stupid. how quickly would the bretonians realize that and recruit you, including your hardware. and the least thing the KNF needs is one less battleship on their side, and one more battleship on the enemies side.

You're thinking too big. It's actually like SWAT with the materials it needs. This isn't wrong, it's roleplay. I'm and Admiral of a ship that is almost 100 years old. What else needs explaining?

While I'm not fond of the idea of police with a battleship (or anything larger than a gunboat), I agree that the KNF don't have any right to tell a properly tagged and ID'd lawful what they can and can't fly. That's what tags and IDs are for. If they kill you just for flying a battleship without asking permission, I'd think that they'd earning some sanctions.

If police shouldn't use battleships (and they shouldn't), the ID needs to be changed.
