After the late skirmish with a vigilante Outcast dreadnought, Clyde and Bonnie returned to Cali base for rearming and repairs.
In the landing bay, Clyde spoke to Bonnie in a down and out tone.
"Man, that git really got to me today, luv'"Clyde expressed to Bonnie, " I mean, the nerve of him!"
Clyde turned about and headed out of the hanger, and went for a wander. Bonnie called out to him, but he ignored it, and went to find himself a a place to be on his own. He put his hands in his pockets, and felt the familiar shape of his stash tin, where his cardi supply was. He pulled it out, and realised it was near empty.
"Crap!"He muttered"I sure hope someone here supplies."
He looked up and spotted a wiry, green haired Outcast girl with a satchel over her shoulder, maybe in her early thirties walking towards him.
"Ya dunno where to score, do ya?"He asked her
"Sure! I got a fresh batch of candy in. Also this real hip H-wine as well."She gleefully told him, eager to make a quick buck.
Clyde looked at her quizzically:"H-wine?"
"Yeah kuz, Gallic wine run over active H-Fuel and then rebottled. A real kick!"She described,"You never tried it?"
Clyde took a minute, and thought about it. "No, can't say I have luv', giz' a try eh?"
She reached into her satchel and pulled out a small bottle. "Here pal, free this one time. All I can say is, don't rail and drink. It will screw ya over"
Clyde reached out and grabbed it, opened the bottle and took a whiff "Crikies!" he exclaimed "That stuff is strong!"
The girl smiled and walked off, mentioning the warning over her shoulder as she left"Don't mix it!"
Clyde, too wrapped up in his emotions, did not take notice. He carried on walking his path where he found a vacant and disused viewing platform. He sat down, set himself up a line and snorted it. He opened the bottle, held his breath and took a long scull of the H-wine. The buzz hit him instantly, knocking him clean out and rendering him into a slumber he won't wake from naturally.
[font=Times New Roman]" I mean, the nerve of him!"
[color=#FF99FF]"Tell me about it, I was just getting use to that damn ship, now I'm stuck with this..." Bonnie kicked the ship, causing another panel to fall off." Oh you have got to be kidding me..."
Clyde wandered out of the hanger, ignoring her calls. She sighed, and went to find a mechanic to complain about how long her ship was taking to get repaired."Damn people here probably couldn't fix a..."She muttered and continued walking around the hanger.
After failing to find anyone there, she wandered off to the bar to get a drink to dull the pain in her shoulder from the days events, and waited for Clyde to return."Give me whatever alcohol you have that is strong, and leave the bottle.." Bonnie downed a shot, and poured herself another, eyeing up the people in the bar seeing if there was anyone who looked even remotely interesting there, a few familiar faces, but she was not exactly in a good mood herself and continued to sit at the bar alone.
A few hours later, and a bottle of strong alcohol later, Clyde had still not returned, sparking some concern from Bonnie. She paid the bar tender, and headed back up to the room to see if he had gone there, after all, he needed rest in her opinion.
Clydes incident and sudden self inflicted comatose is due to be cured. He is flown to Alcatraz, where some miracle working doctors bring him out of his coma so he can carry on his dedicated universal domination of Sirius.
They start their procedures, and things look promising. A slip of a scalpel blade that shouldn't have been there, slices a vocal chord which won't allow him to say anything distasteful again.
The procedure will take 8 hours from now, with an hours travel back to Cali base where his ship awaits him.
So the point is, in round about 9 - 10 hours, he should be 'cured' . If it takes longer, he don't wanna hear that the traffic was bad, or some hippy Junker in a space combi pirated you for your synthetic maruajuana on the way. He doesn't mind if you share it, but stoned hospital ship pilot won't sit well if you are late!
Bonnie had not heard from Clyde for over a week. She was going off the rails, couldn't sleep, wouldn't eat, and was taking stronger combinations of Cardimine and Synthetic Marijuana to try and calm her nerves. She got the news of Clyde's overdose of Drugs and H-wine, and that was the last straw. He was due back days ago, and Bonnie in her state assumed the worst. Pulling on her flight suit she jumped in her ship, despite it not quite being completed. At the moment she just did not care. It was no worse then when she bought it, and as far as she was concerned, it was still bordering on space safe. She un-docked, ignoring the warnings of the crew. She didn't care, she wanted to get away from there, and hurt someone. Preferably the people who had, in her mind, failed at bringing Clyde back to her.
Bonnie ran into a Navel forces patrol, who tried to stop her, knowing it would be suicide, she decided to choose fight over flight. "Turn yourself in, and no one gets hurt" [color=#000000]She turned her ship to face the fleet. "No going back now then is there."She muttered as she pulled a diamond necklace out of her pocket, the first 'prize' she had come across in her career with Clyde, the jewelry on Houston, a tear rolled down her cheek as it sunk in now she was sobering up that she would not get the chance to see Clyde again weather he was alive or not after this, as she would not be able to get out of the situation alive. Although it was a two gunboats, and a handful of fighters, with back up more then likely on standby, against her ship that was barely holding together at Cruise speeds, she never gave up, at the end of the day, Bonnie would rather die then be taken prisoner by anyone. "Don't do this, You wont get out of here alive." She sculled the last of the hip flask of alcohol, lit a cigarette and shook her head, "You have no idea....." and open fired on the first fighter.
As soon as Bonnie opens fire, The Intruder uncloaks on the edge of the fight, escorted by a rather large AI Cruiser, and a large number of fighters. Rufus' voice rings over the comms.[color=#FFFFFF] "Alright, every bloody ship working escort kill those bastards and save our Elite!" ::Affirmative:: The AI Cruiser drifts into the middle of the fire fight and starts launching Mortars at the gunboats.
"Yes sir!" The escort fighters of The Intruder break formation and open fire on the Naval Forces fighters.
"Alright, all turret operators open up, I want all of them dead within the minute!" The multitude of turrets on board The Intruder open fire, quickly downing a bomber.
Bonnie had downed her first ship, doing everything in her power to avoid getting shot due to the condition her ship was in now, the port side wing was about to fall off, and an engine was smoking. [color=#FF99FF]"Whats the bet there is no escape pod..."She swore, as she realized she was right. "Come on Bonnie, you don't think we'd let you die that easy do you?" "Right, Well, better make this quick..."She looked at Alex and shook her head for the first time in years she was actually scared for her life. "I'm not going to get out of here alive, Rufus, I mean.. look.. "She said to Rufus over private comms, "I'm sorry."She took a few shots from another fighter that had come in with back up, the Mini razor on her ship exploded. She started firing on that ship, trying to get within range of the prison liner at the same time. "Clyde... I need help"She mumbled as her countermeasure dropper also went up in smoke.
Alex saw Bonnie going up in smoke and muttered a curse. He was too far away to help and was already on his way back the gunboat having been destroyed. Even so he knew he'd never make it in time... but maybe he didn't need to.
With that thought in mind he turned on his laptop and initiated a hack on one of the fighter's tailing Bonnie.
"Come on baby, work quickly for me..." The computer pinged and Alex took control of the ship. He dropped some nuclear mines and then shot them destroying several of the fighters tailing Bonnie, unfortunately that included his remote controlled fighter.
He'd bought her time, but he could only hope it was enough.
As the hospital ship arrives at Cali Base, Clyde notices that it is eerily quiet. "Where is everyone?" He quietly questions himself.
The ship docks, and Clyde reacquaints himself with Cali, a place that felt like he hadn't been in years. His ship was still sitting in the hanger, but Bonnies was gone.
Clyde grabbed a deck-hands arm"Where the hell is everyone?!"he demanded
The young lad, startled by the aggressiveness in Clydes tone, stutters an answer"Th-they went looking for your lady.... She is on a r-rampage in Kusari...."
Clyde looks at his ship"Thank you for stayin' in one piece my dear"He spoke lovingly to his ship"Let's go save the lady who makes me who I am!"He climbs in, not knowing how he is going to fend off the chinks, and least of all, where to find his one true love. He clicks the radio transmitter, and it cackles back at him.
"To all Society Vessels, this is Clyde Barrow, has anyone seen Bonnie?"
Suddenly, a wave of communications come flooding over the over the headset."Bloody hell, what the heck is going on??" he shouted back down the comms
