So, I just want to make sure I'm gathering the gist of what's attempting to go on here:
  1. GRN are going to start their push out through southern Gallia, setting up the changes that are going to happen come .86 where Languedoc and the lower Taus become subdued
  2. The relations Gallic Corps have established are now up in the air depending on how ruthless the GRN are going to be. Once all is said and done, IMG and Kusari are going to be neutral, but what of, say, the friendly relations between IMG and GMS? How should we go about treating my fellow non-BMM miners? And is Igiss dictating that all the Gallic citizens overrunning the Taus are of the same mind?
  3. Mechanically, everything is still going to be the same since we don't have the manpower to throw a reputation adjustment update for Languedoc and the Tau systems, this making them a bitch and a half for GRN players. Have you tried this while jumping into the Orkney minefield?
    • Sidenote: One would think that a selective rephack, making IMG/CR/Kusari et al neutral, and leaving the OC/Bretonia angry would be ideal.
  4. This idea is still in its infancy and hasn't really been given much thought on being fleshed out other than "Hey, let's let the GRN into the Taus to set up for .86." We as players are now picking out the bugs in the machine and helping to direct how things should go?
I'm frankly of an opinion that the best thing for Gallia would be to really encourage some inter-house trading. At this point, all we're doing is giving Gallic players yet another reason to leave Gallia. While I'm fully in support of setting up some sort of roleplay tie-in, it just seems like we're putting the cart before the horse. I know we can alter commodity prices, so let's give some good hard looks at what we can do to bring people in to Gallia. A little cargo traffic would be lovely.

Of course, given that the GRN are going to be waltzing out inevitably, even though we can't affect any NPC affiliation changes on stations, rephacks may be a way to go to at least make travel and RP interaction feasible and sensible.

Why can't the GRN just man up, grow a pair and bloody invade?

Napoleon wouldn't have worried about it. He may have brought a repair ship or two. If you said to him "Monsieur l'Impereur. Il y a des npc's tres forts ici" he would have scoffed, snorted and possibly sneered.

Are you telling me that I can make a GRN character and my reward for flying through those hostile systems is getting to blow the bejaysus out of everyone not from Frogsville?

Where do I sign up? More importantly, where do my friends sign up? And, also, will there be hors d'ouevres?

Allez les Bleues!

It might boost Gallia's activity a lot, which would be a good thing. I'm all for it

Basically yes. This is an idea.

One concept that could make this work is have specified days where GRN aggression can occur, call it "4.855 mega-event" where the server activity reflects the invasion period.

Then after that is over, revert back to current 4.85 status. Then next weekend (for instance) have another "4.855 day".

They can avoid the Council npcs in Languedoc that way.
According to the story, before the GRN invades the Taus they first have to pacify the Council in Languedoc, so that ought to be the first battlefield. Once that happens, then maybe a repninja, or maybe just a flhook command that will teleport GRN ID'd ships from their battleship in Languedoc to...open space maybe, next to the Orkney-Tau 23 jump hole. If a teleport to open space is too problematic, then a teleport to Reunion station might work. The station would be hostile upon exit, but the capships wouldn't really have too much of a problem with that. Undocking in a fighter wouldn't be substantially different than coming out of a hostile jump gate. And you still get to avoid the hostile npcs in Languedoc.

That could work.

That is the most well put thing I have ever heard you say.

And yes, what do you think people from the other side of the fence have to deal with?

1.We at best can only use HF (GET US VHF NAOW!) against lynx swarms.
2. We have to deal with GRN bomber squads when we go out in anything that cant really out maneuver such. They don't just shoot out flowers and sunshine yah know!
3. And I really don't think the council would just lay down and let the GRN walk over em into Orkeny. You want in?..Earn it!..Through blood and fire if needed be!

The Agama is an excellent HF. Its very well capable of taking down any VHF. An Agama usually wins versus Lynx.
