"Thanks Alex.. "[color=#000000] She nodded as she was told to land, at this point she was not going to argue, she just wanted out of the situation. She switched to private com's with Clyde "If I don't make it alive... like, I mess it up... you... you know that I love you, right?"
"Hey, better now then never, I doubt you can go for much longer.... There is space on the deck to land, try your best...And one last thing, please don't total the ship, you don't realize how long it takes to fix those things!"She laughed nervously. "Yeah.. About that.. Sorry in advance mate"
She tried to line up her ship as best she could with the doors, the last thing anyone needed was a hole in the Intruder. She swore as she realized she had too much speed to come in to land, but not enough time to pull out and try again. "I'm going to use the bottom wings as something to..." She never got time to finish her sentence, the bottom wings collided with the lower part of the door, doing exactly what she had wanted it to do, slowing her down slightly. Ripping off the wings and completely writing off a majority of the rear end of the ship in the process. The wreckage narrowly missed Zack, as he jumped out of the way. Glass went everywhere as the ship crashed into a bomber undergoing repairs, causing Bonnie to hit her head hard, she blacked out for the remainder of the crash.
She was aware of the wound on her head and instantly went to put pressure on it, but jumped at the pain and decided not to touch it again. She wondered what in her ship was broken enough to do that. The thought made her laugh slightly. What in her ship wasn't broken enough. Glass from the cockpit was everywhere, so was most of the ship. She tried to undo the safety belts but couldn't, so she slumped back in the seat and closed her eyes. At least she had survived "Sorry Zack.... I so owe you like... anything you want? "
As Zack avoided the ship he cursed, really loudly, and fell onto his rump. Looking at the wreckage his eyes began to water "All that work..."
Then it hit him "Ahhhh! Bonnie is still in that ship!" He raced over to what remained of the cockpit, which was to say, very little remained.
He looked in through the shattered remains of her window, and saw Bonnie, face in the control panel, struggling with something, then stopping.
He radioed the command bridge, "Rufus, get some people down here ASAP, Bonnie is in a bad way, and I know only how to fix ships."
Zack tried to open the cockpit, but found the hinges had been melted from shots. "I thought those things heat resistant?! Things just can never be easy." He whined.
He extracted a large wrench he had on his person, and began breaking the glass around a hole that had been made in the cockpit windshield. When it had been made big enough, he jumped up and cut the restraints holding Bonnie in, he drew his hand back to see some blood. "Awh hell, this is just what I need..."
By this time the people who had been moving ships had stopped gawking and made it over to the wreck, and helped Zack extract Bonnie from her seat.
Finally she was laying on her back stretched out in a hastily cleared spot. Now they had to wait for Rufus and the medics....
Rufus came running into the hanger, followed by 3 medics. He looks at the bomber wreck as he passes. "Dammit! There goes the Armageddon." He points the medics in the direction of Bonnie. "Don't just stand there, go help her idiots!" He runs over to his ship. "Zack, take control of The Intruder, I'm going out to speed things up" He closes the hatch on his Sabre, and takes off through the secondary hatch, as the first one was sealed shut due to the wreck. As he exits the ship, he is narrowly hit by a floating chunk of Bonnie's engines.
The sky was alight with a multitude of colours. Photons, plasmas, pulses, razors. And in amongst all this commotion, a burning Wasupu dodges and dives, ducks and rolls until it is lined up with the bay doors on the Intruder. Clyde makes a pass again on the chink destroyer, sending the blue warhead to its destination deep in the side of the wretched vessel. He turns back in, and looks in vain for Bonnies ship.
"Flaming Gaians, I hope she landed safely."Clyde muttered to himself, unaware of the carnage on the flight deck. He continues around again lining up and sending another supernova cannon projectile into the stricken destroyer.
"My head hurts.. "Bonnie mumbled trying to pull off the coverings the medics had carefully placed on there to try and stop the bleeding, crying out in pain when she lifted her left arm."Clyde... Where is he..." She pushed away the medic re-adjusting the bandage she had pulled off and tried to stand up. fighting off the medics who were trying to help, hitting one square in the jaw, he fell backwards into the wreckage, where one of the other medics quickly checked him over, before trying to assist the other in restraining Bonnie who had made it to her feet."NO! Don't touch me! Where is Clyde!" The panic in her voice made the medics hesitate for a minute, due to the fact this was not how Bonnie would normally act, long enough for her to get a head start on them to the nearest ship that looked like it would fly."They killed him! They... he... "With that she dropped to her knees shivering, and in tears, mumbling something about needing a cigarette and wanting to go home."Just leave me alone.. "She murmured, while wiping the blood from the cut, and tears on her flight suit sleeve. The last thing she wanted was the attention.
Zack was utterly stunned at Bonnie's actions, clearly sending the medic she hit into unconsciousness. When she fell to her knees he walked over, and got down and looked her in the eyes "Bonnie, Listen, Clyde is fine, I am going to make sure he comes home. But I need you to with these gentlemen, you are in a bad way, and need the help. I promise you Clyde will come home. Now go please"
He took his hands off her shoulders, leaving Bonnie in her place. He made a circular motion with his hands at shoulder height, immediately two guards were at his flanks. He was in the elevator in the next instant, racing to the command bridge.
Chuck, came off the barge, took his falcata to dock with the Intruder. He gave a gaze around, and went to see Rufus, he had an important matter to discuss with him.
"Bonnie, Listen, Clyde is fine, I am going to make sure he comes home. But I need you to with these gentlemen, you are in a bad way, and need the help. I promise you Clyde will come home. Now go please"
[color=#FF99FF]"No.. don't make me go.. please.. " She winced when he took his hands off her shoulders, she looked up at him,"Please? I'm fine.. I just want Clyde.."
The guards appeared behind Zack and she cursed at him before the medics showed up again. she reached for her sidearm, swearing when she realized that must have been lost in the crash, probably lucky for Zack, she couldn't believe he was making her go. One of the guards lifted her to her feet, and the other handcuffed her wrists as she tried to attack him. "Come on sweetheart, lets get you patched up, yeah? She glared at him, when she finally realized she wasn't going to get out of the restraints, before muttering "Don't call me sweetheart... I don't need patching up.. take these freaking things off me.. and just tell me where Clyde is dammit." With that, they started up to the medical wing, with Bonnie muttering curses, and making it a difficult as possible for them, all while in tears.
"Stay still damn it!" Alex shouted. Finally he landed the killing blow and the ship exploded. He leaned back and sighed. He took a quick look at his radar and saw the last of the detroyers go up in smoke as P.A.U.L completed the attack protocol. Alex turned on his microphone.
"Battlespace is clear Rufus. So much for the legendary Kusari... All ships return to the Intruder. We're done here."
As the last of the destroyers was made redundant to the ceaseless fire from the PAUL and himself, Clyde manoeuvred the Falcata around the floating debris and requested docking permissions, and some insight into whether Bonnie was alive or not.
"Is she alright? Has she made it? Answer me damnit! Clear the deck for me to land!"The adrenaline was wearing off, and Clyde began to feel weak. Almost a fortnight of unconsciousness, combined with the ill effects of the toxins that put him under mixed with emotions and remorse he felt in letting down his team, and especially his lady, had almost drained him of life again.
