That we cannot be official?
Or that we cannot use ships that we inRP should have acess to?
If it is the latter, then call us unofficial and recruitment line will be dropped.
I love how you work around the rules as it pleases you.
"Can this faction be part of IC| ? No ? Ok then, we'll be unofficial and pretend there is no link between us and IC| in order to use the IDs we want."

That's exactly what I'm talking about.
You want to make this sub-faction separated from IC| so that you can use the IDs you want, not caring about the rules other factions have to follow. Convenient workaround.
Oh gosh. I shouldn't have made this thread. You would have felt better not knowing what is happening. What ships exactly are you against? Do you at all know what we are using?
Just contract a separate, already existing group of mercenaries to fulfill this task and pay them according to bounty rules. Making your own group to pvp basically any opposition your faction leadership desires and then deny all responsibility does shed a negative light on your organization, irrelevant if you make it official or not.

I'm not against any ships (since I think Corporations should be able to use gunboats - that will be the case in .86 as far as I know). Sorry if I look like Mr Rule-Whore here, but I'm just saying that it looks like a poor workaround to override faction rules regarding IDs.
To be honest I think it would be better if the Legal Department is part of the official IC| faction (note that you are allowed to use no tags on these ships).

What's the difference between letting other mercenaries work for us and let our own members have fun, while contributing to IC| RP? Difference is, most of us are not good at PvP while most mercs are. So, we will not be so much of annoyance.
Or we could make RH/GC chars to hide our activities. Sounds better?
I don't see any difference in who is PvPing, me, you, Reaver, some random.
We all want to have fun, and trading is sometimes boring, so I am trying to give our guys some other sides of RP (in this case PvP).

Consider the fact that mercenaries and the bounty board exist exactly to resolve the issues of different organizations that are unwilling or unable to do the job themselves. Surely, I could make a mercenary character, make my own bounty board and then kill my enemies without having to pay anyone, but the bounty system exists for the reason of making this process more orthodox in the eyes of the community.
IDs are to identify a certain individual as the part of a faction. If he is not using the same ID, but is otherwise contracted by the faction to do its dirty work, there's an official procedure of doing that and it is called the bounty board.
As far as I'm concerned, establishing an organization using a separate ID and equipment but otherwise being consistent of the same members and following the same guidelines of an existing faction is metagaming. Imagine if I did a Liberty Rogue group that does not attack the RM and sympathizes with their goals to a degree that they take care of their dirty work themselves. Clearly metagaming.
I understand what you mean. But... Metagaming is everywhere. Powergaming too.
Well, should our guys be indie merc contracted on our board?
What I am trying to say is, we could do this without public knowledge. But we do this with informing community without hiding. We are only four guys yet. Not much. And only I am playing on as Legal Department now.
There are a lot of examples of metagaming, powergaming, but why is this group worth discussing?
Space is a dangerous place. Personally, I case about only rules forbidding ooRP behaviour. I don't see why a character played by IC| member cannot act as a mercenary for it.
