Bonnie rises an eyebrow and looks at Clyde. [color=#FF99FF]"Really, that sounds serious. Everything ok?" She asked Alex, he didn't respond so she shrugged. "Well, OK. I guess we should wait and go see what this is about" She headed towards the briefing room.
Zack climbed out of Alex's Eagle. "That's the last time I fly with you Alex. It was worst then that damnable barge."
He processed Alex's statement before replying "Someone wrecked something didn't they, and you want me to fix it, right? You now I do have a personal life, It doesn't revolve around fixing things..."
He looked at Alex, obviously seeing that was the problem, but he find it amusing anyway.
It took everyone almost half an hour to get into the briefing room, after Bonnie had gone with Clyde to have a hit, and Bonnie had a cigarette. Alex was standing at the far end of the room, looking rather serious.
[color=#FF99FF]"Stop looking so... like that. Whatever has happened it cant be -that- bad."She sat back in her chair and waited for what he had to say. Trying to guess what it was by the way he was acting. She could only think it had something to do with someone dying, someone had got caught by some military forces, An alliance had been destroyed, or something along those lines. "Really. Whats happened." Bonnie was never one for waiting to hear any kind of news.
"Rufus is in a bad way." He told them bluntly. "He got banged up pretty bad in a fight. He's comatose right now. No idea when he'll wake up. Could be a day, a week, a month, or never." Alex sighed and sat down.
"What this means is... Zack and I are in charge for now. Since you two are our most senior members I just figured you ought to know..."
Alex fell silent allowing his words time to sink in.
[font=Times New Roman]Bonnie frowned slightly. Letting the words sink in. [color=#FF99FF]"You mean he.. " She shook her head, obviously trying to hold back tears, even though he was the boss, he was considered a good friend. "Where is he now?" She said quietly. Wondering if she could sneak in to visit him at some point. Surely a friendly face wouldn't do him harm.
After being silent for a few minutes, her attitude became slightly aggressive, as this was the only way she knew how to deal with things of the sorts. "Who did this to him."She stood up, and crossed her arms. "I swear Ill go out, find this fool, and give him the what-for. Who did this to him."She looked at Clyde, still trying to hold back the tears"I'm borrowing your ship. Ill bring it back in one piece.. Just tell me who did it."She said the last part of that sentence turning her gaze back to Alex.
Zack was visibly stricken by Alex's statement, he sat, stunned, his best friends life hanging in the balance. "I'm borrowing your ship. Ill bring it back in one piece.. Just tell me who did it." he heard Bonnie say. "You can take mine, I just need time to think..." he slid her a card to his modified Sabre.
Without another word he walked out of the briefing room, as the entirety of the crew watched. He kept walking , all the way down to the engineering deck, a secluded place he had spent most of his time. He looked at his current ongoing project. It was a modified drive core, intended to increase efficiency of engines on the ships, it was no where near completion, but he spent his spare time there.
He opened his tool cabinet, and took at a bottle of wine. "I had thought Rufus and I could have this the day before we did some suicidal mission, he always loved those. But I guess that time may not happen. He opened the bottle and poured himself a glass, and began working.
[font=Times New Roman]Bonnie hesitated and nodded before taking the card to Zack's Sabre. She followed Zack out the door, [color=#FF99FF]"If you want to talk.. you know where to find me, ok?" She wasn't sure if he had heard her or not, as he didn't respond. She made a mental note to make sure he was ok when she saw him next.
Bonnie turned and looked at Alex."I will find who did this to him weather you tell me or not.. They aren't getting off lightly. You do know that, right?"With that she shook her head and headed down to the flight deck, checking that she had sufficient ammunition for her pistol. It dawned on her she hadn't made sure Clyde was dealing with it OK, she wasn't sure if he was close to Rufus or not; And although she was not as close to Rufus as others, she thought of him as a mate and never did take well to loosing people she cares about. In her mind, someone was going to pay for this.
What little recollection he had about his self inflicted coma, Clyde felt dread in his heart. He knew about the uncertainties being at the mercy of medicinal technology. If he was in Zoner care he might have a chance. In the hands of the Outcasts, the chances were slim. As the news sunk deeper and deeper, his head slowly tilted. He felt drained and tired, down and dark like he did before his comaThis pirate life can be really hard on a wretched soul he spoke softly to himself as Bonnie walked after Alex.
Clyde got up, gazed after Bonnie and Alex, and his gaze fell lifeless as his feeling of despair and misery turned into something else. An emotion so dark, so unrelenting, so unforgiving was brewing up. A sense of honor in himself to serve and protect what little crew The Society had.
Alex had disappeared from view now, and Bonnie was just in sight. Clyde got up from his seat and walked to the exit, looking for a way to ease his raging mind. He looked at Bonnie, standing there with a ship-card in one hand and a cigarette in the other. She looked good, despite her bandages and rugged clothing, the bloodstains and the bruises. "Before I kill someone" he muttered,"I am gunna ravage her". She had turned to the flight deck and started to head down, so Clyde picked up his pace, his gait a little unsteady to begin with, and quickly caught up to her.
He grabbed her shoulder, startling her."I got a use for you, and it ain't in a ship..." He moved her with a bit of force towards their room, intent on letting his rage out in a far more productive manner.
[font=Times New Roman]Bonnie Jumped slightly as Clyde grabbed her shoulder, bringing her back to reality after being lost in thoughts. It wasn't so much the fright of him touching her, it was the sudden bolt of pain through her arm, from her injured shoulder, which she wasn't expecting. [color=#FFFFFF]"I got a use for you, and it ain't in a ship..."
"What the ... Oh, hey." she smiled slightly as she realised who it was, before frowning. He looked different, almost like the anger was about to take over."Clyde, are you ok?" He pushed her in the direction of the room, She stumbled slightly and shook her head. "Look, what's going on in...."She stopped talking as she realised why they were heading in the direction of the room. The first thought that came across her mind was she needed to shoot someone, shaking that out of her head, she sighed and decided to go along with what he wanted. At the end of the day, she would probably enjoy it, and with a bit of luck, it would bring Clyde back.
