Hours later things had calmed down around the ship, Rufus' condition was made known to the members of the ship, and the new leadership was instated. Zack walked down the hallways, in a haze from his drinking binge, he hadn't drank much, but he never was a drinker.
He walked into the bridge, and searched for Alex, he spotted him with little difficulty. "You! Damn you!" Zack screamed as he charged Alex, pinning him to the view monitor, striking him across the face. "You did this to him! Make him better, fix him!" Zack reeked of alcohol, and his eyes were bloodshot, whether it was from tears, or the wine, was indeterminable.
All the soldiers on deck, just watched as this occurred, not knowing who to side with, seeing the commanders in conflict.
"Zack, calm down. I wasn't even there alright? I don't even know who did this to him." Alex's voice was calm and even. Once again he cleared his head of his own thoughts and disguised his own emotions for the purpose of calming down others.
That's what he was good at after all. Solving other people's problems. Never his own.
Zack released his vise grip on Alex, "I'm sorry", he slurred, "I want Rufus back is all." Alex looked like he had something to say, but Zack left, just wanting to be alone. He made his way down to the hangar, and began fine tuning Bonnie's replacement ship. It was almost finished but it needed some adjustments, and for the guns to be mounted, and a new ID transmitter, those were harder to get, since Bonnie had hers blown off. "I wonder how long it will be until we can get a replacement part..." He muttered to himself while working.
[font=Times New Roman]After Bonnie and Clyde had finished in the bedroom, and had a few lines, Bonnie headed down to the hanger to get away for a while, lost in thought, and unintentionally ignoring what Clyde was saying as she walked out. She had changed the clothing she was wearing, as her flight suit was still covered in blood from the crash, although she hadn't bothered to clean up the blood from the smaller grazes the medics had left, as they had expected her to still be there when they got back. At the moment, she didn't care. Still contemplating taking Zack's ship out, to shoot and probably kill whoever she saw on her travels, she stopped and thought back to what happened the last time she went on a rampage, she was almost against the idea.
Bonnie into the hanger, not long after Zack, [color=#FF99FF]"Hey, Zack.. wait up a minute, yeah?"She caught up with him, where he was working, not sure if he wanted company or not." I heard th... Wait, are you drunk?!" She looked him up and down, before shaking her head and saying to him quietly, "What's going on mate, talk to me about it... Believe it or not, I'm actually worried about you."She jumped up on a stool near by where he was, and waited for him to talk.
The smell of alcohol was present on Zack, but not as intense as it was previously. He focused on his work as he heard the familiar steps of Bonnie as she approached him. She said something, and something else, he couldn't quite grab it through the haze... "What's going on mate, talk to me about it... Believe it or not, I'm actually worried about you."
This cut through clearly, he sobered up a little, hearing the worry in her voice. He turned to look at her, and saw her uniform, tattered. He was put aback by it, it only did to bring back the crash. He focused, and looked her in the eyes "Bonnie, you really need to change your outfit, I don't think blood is your style." He stumbled over the first few words, before finally getting his speech correct. "Rufus was a brother to me, I would die for him, and I could have sworn we would go out together, now I am left alive, with him missing. It shouldn't be him going. When this all started, we promised to make our names known, or die together fighting. And now, I don't think it will ever be the same..." He sighed, looking into her eyes, clearly looking ravaged by this ordeal.
Alex sighed and after a few more minutes left the bridge. He hadn't known Rufus particularily well and it seemed unlikely that he ever would know him now.
With nothing to do he went back to his room and booted his computer. There were a few notifications that some of his malicious programs had been removed from various servers across Sirius but he was past the point where he cared.
It had been a rough few months for The Society, first Joseph ran off with McCarthy, then Blain retired, and now Rufus was comatose. There goes the entire leadership and now Zack and he were expected to pick up where they had left off. No easy task to be sure.
He plugged in his headphones and started up one of his playlists as he surfed through the neural net looking for anything of interest. After a couple of minutes he closed out. It was all boring anyway. He ran a quick check to see if any of his spyware had picked up anything on Julian Creed. Nothing. He heaved a sigh and turned off his computer.
He sat there in the darkness of his room and silently contemplated what to do and silently longed for his old life. How much easier it was then. He wasn't expected to amount to anything, his days were easily split between the boredom of patrol, and a rather neglected personal life...
He shook his head. What The Society needed now was a leader, not an emotionally conflicted youth living in the past. He grabbed the starter chip to his Eagle and headed to the hangar. He spotted Bonnie and Zack from across the hangar and approached the pair.
[font=Times New Roman]"Bonnie, you really need to change your outfit, I don't think blood is your style."[color=#000000] she shrugged thinking to herself she probably should next time she went via the room. She shook her head when she realised just how drunk he was. She knew Zack was not a drinker, so this had surprised her.
"Rufus was a brother to me, I would die for him, and I could have sworn we would go out together, now I am left alive, with him missing. It shouldn't be him going. When this all started, we promised to make our names known, or die together fighting. And now, I don't think it will ever be the same..."She looked at him, and shook her head, she had never seen Zack like this before. Bonnie slid off the stool and went to give him a hug. "I'm sorry, I really don't know how to make this better... He wouldn't have wanted you to give up..." She was interrupted by footsteps and swore when she realised who it was. "Yeah... Give me a second" She said quietly to Zack, with a note of hostility in her voice.
"What's up?"She walked towards Alex, pulling out her sidearm. "Who did this to Rufus." Bonnie loaded it, and stood between Alex and Zack."Don't tell me you don't know. 'coz I don't believe you." No one was going to hurt Zack, and the crew this much without suffering she thought to herself. She raised her arm and pointed the gun at Alex.
Waking up after a good romp with Bonnie several hours later, Clyde was feeling much better. He opened his eyes, felt across the bed to find Bonnie wasn't there. He sat up, checked his surroundings and realised that he was actually in his own bed. The room was a mess, Bonnies clothes all over the floor. The familiar mess just made Clyde feel good. It was great to be home.
he threw the sheets off, got out of bed. Slipped into some comfy trackies and grabbed a coffee. Bonnies stash was sitting right there next to the sugar so he spilt some cardimine on the bench and took a hit. The buzz was instant and he felt light headed and eager to get the days tasks out of the way. His coffee made, his buzz kicking in, it looked like it was the beginnings of a good day. He drank his drink, and put his vessel back on the bench top. He got dressed, combed his hair and wondered if there'd be any hot babes to capture today. Bonnie was fun, but the urge to spread his seed was great. He donned his flight suit on, always prepared to fight, and wandered down towards the flight deck. He heard Bonnies voice and smiled, though he did not catch what she said. He walked through the hanger access door and saw Bonnie draw her side arm on Alex.
Zack felt an overwhelming despair come over himself. He stood up and walked up behind Bonnie, and put his hand on her shoulder, turning her, "Bonnie, we don't need this, please, if not for yourself, then for me." He put his hand in the gun, pressing the release for the mag, and the charge cell dropped to the floor with a dramatic thud, like the final nail in the crews sadness.
[font=Times New Roman]"Bonnie, we don't need this, please, if not for yourself, then for me."[color=#000000] Bonnie looked at Zack, a tear rolling down her cheek, shaking her head she pushed the gun into his hand and turned her back on him, heading to the access door. Bonnie hated letting Clyde see her upset, but this time she just didn't care. She just wanted a hug, and for things to go back to the way they were a few days ago. She knew neither was likely to happen.
