Alex found the wreckage of Rufus's fighter. He dug through the wreckage for a few minutes before managing to locate the black box.
He pulled it from the wreckage with much tugging, pulling, prying, and a fair amount of cursing. Finally with the black box in hand he hooked it up to his laptop and through a few feets of computer magic extracted the data on board and converted it to a useable file.
A zoner who had been watching questioned what he was doing. When he explained she stared at him blankly. He sighed.
"If you were a computer geek... you'd be really turned on right now." He turned back to the computer and began typing away again as the zoner left.
[font=Times New Roman]Bonnie sat with Rufus, in tears the whole time, before deciding she needed a cigarette to calm her down. [color=#FF99FF]"You're doing good mate.. Don't give up."She said quietly before leaving the room. She contemplated having a hit while she was out, but realised it would probably make her worse. Bonnie stepped out of the medical wing, and lit a cigarette, heading to the hanger to see what Alex had found. She muttered something and swore at a passer by who was looking at her sideways. Reaching the hanger she found Alex still typing away on his computer. "Have you got anything yet? .. And should I radio the guys back home to let them know he's in good hands? "She sat down next to Alex, shaking her head, it still amazed her how he could do just about anything - if not everything - on a computer.
Joseph sat in the Freeport 14 lower bar, listening to the fast paced music. He smoked a cigarette, in addition to using his breather. He was nervous, TS ships had entered the system, and he had made sure to cover his tracks. Or so he thought he did. "What in Malta's name are they doing here? I am just going to lay low here, too big of a risk taking my ship, it was likely they would recognize my fighter signatures" He sat and watched the dancers in the bar, a pang of sadness in his belly.
Little did Joseph know that in fact that someone was contacting the higher members of the TS. They were transmitting clearly Joseph's position, and even worst, was what information the blackbox contained.
"Yeah, go ahead and radio the guys and I've almost got something..."
Alex had found the ID of the ship that had taken out Rufus. Now he was in the process of trying to get the name of the person who piloted it which was proving to be no easy task. Alex stopped and raised an eyebrow when a transmission came in.
"The bloody hell is this?" He wondered aloud as he opened it. The message was read only and all text. Alex sighed, probably some teenager sending random transmissions to anybody. He was about to press the delete key when he saw the subject line of the message.
Subject: Joseph Tomasso
Body:
Your 'friend' is in the Freeport 14 lower bar. I'm sure you'd like to have a 'chat' with him. Enjoy.
Alex stood up and put his laptop down.
"Bonnie, grab your gun we gotta go check out the bar right now."
Alex checked that his gun was in place and headed off figuring Bonnie would catch up.
Tomasso sat at the bar still, in his own world. A man approached him and his meditation was broken, and the world came back to him, the fast paced beat of the music returning. "Hey, looks like those guys who you were watching landed on this base." A diminutive Zoner said to him. "Alright, thanks. Here is your pay for that, now scram, and if you tell anyone..." He left the unfinished threat hanging in the air for effect, and decided he would wait, and let them make the first move.
But of course the Zoner was at the room of Alex. He knocked three times, ready to spill the information on Joseph, for a price.
"One of your friends, Tomasso his name is, is on board this station," he grinned "For a price, I will tell you where he is."
The man smiled greedily as Alex gave him a credit chit, he looked around, and whispered in Alex's ear "Look on the lower bar, he is there now, and spends alot of time there."
The man dissolved into the shadows, pleased with the money he had earned this night.
[font=Times New Roman]"Bonnie, grab your gun we gotta go check out the bar right now."[color=#000000]Bonnie shook her head wondering what the bar would have to do with anything. She got off the radio to Clyde, after letting them know Rufus was still alive, and he was in good hands; deliberately missing out the worrying things, like the amount of tubes, wires and machines they had connected to him to keep him with them.. "Hopefully that will stop them worrying...."With that, she took her gun out of its holster on her hip, and went to find Alex.
Bonnie hear's him talking to someone, after seeing a shady zoner seemingly disappear she noticed Alex. "So, whats the plan, what have you found out?" He said something about the lower bar, and they headed in that direction, looking for someone it seemed he knew. Bonnie fell silent and followed close behind with her gun ready.
"Joseph Tomasso." Alex said. "Is in the lower bar." He assumed no further explanation was required. He yanked his Lupara out of the holster at the small of his back, checked that both barrels were loaded, and entered the bar.
He spotted Tomasso instantly.
"There..." He whispered to Bonnie. He pushed through the crowd towards Tomasso keeping the Lupara at his side and hoping the other man had not yet seen him.
Joseph was in a reverie when he sensed a change in the air, anger a lot of it. His trance was broken, and once again his mind was brought back into the bar, playing a fast paced, bass heavy beat. In the distance, he saw Alex Drake, followed by Bonnie Barrow. He stood up as he drew near, shotgun in Alex's hand. "Amigo, good to see you." He extended his hand.
