The Rheinland Pirate Cruiser, comm id: {JM}-Xoria has received the 100million in funds from Firebird to be split evenly among all participants.
Currently it is parked at Planet Harris in Tau 31.
Firebird suggests the asteroid miners in sector D6 of Tau 31 as the rendezvous for the payout to participants at the conclusion of the event.
If anyone will be unable to rendezvous there due to time constraints (needing to log off) please make sure that you are counted as a participant before I start doling out the funds, and I will reserve your share for distribution at a later time.
If Tau 31 is just too hostile a place for your rendezvous, I can drop down to Leeds and up to Tau 29 as needed, but hopefully the bulk of the transactions can be completed in Tau 31 for the sake of efficiency.

I think I will be able to join in on this event. My character is a junker so if anyone has a place for me plz let me know. I would guess I will be defending Dr. Chong given my rp status.
{JM}-Xoria has the $100 million participation pot. Reminder on roles and limitations:
1. Convoy consists of transports, and mercenary ships up to Cruiser (maximum of 3 Cruisers, one of which is the Ciro which is the lead ship). Some transports are bribed transports carrying excessive marijana for delivery to their pirate friends (the pirates are met enroute and disguised as raiders). Rest are enroute to Honshu.
2. BAF/BPA consists of fighters to cruisers (can have as many cruisers as the convoy - they have 2 you can have 2 - if 3 Cruisers are present in the convoy, BAF may have 1 battleship in replacement of a cruiser), out to scan the convoy and detain the Ciro and the bribed transports. Detention is performed by the ships either agreeing to proceed to New London (unlikely) or by ships being disabled (destruction of a convoy ship will be considered disabling for the sake of simplicity). If pirates come to hit the convoy the BAF will also assist in the defense of the convoy members from the pirates, while still trying to detain the bribed ships and the Ciro.
3. KNF/KSP consists of fighters to cruisers (can have as many cruisers as the convoy - they have 2 you can have 2 - if 3 Cruisers are present in the convoy, KNF may have 1 battleship in replacement of a cruiser). Engages the BAF and escorts the convoy through Kusari space.
4. Pirates consist of fighters to cruisers (at most 1 cruiser/pirate group). Ideally one pirate group for each bribed transport. Their objective is to hit the convoy, complete the transfer with their bribed transport, destroy any other bribed transports to prevent competition in the marijana trade, and raid the other ships for supplies.
The convoy will travel via the following systems (possibly by tradelane or jump-hole between each, so there's some leeway in the route, but only these systems in that order - no running to Dublin and jumping to Leeds type thing).
Cambridge - New London - Leeds - Tau-31 - Tau-29 - Kyushu - New Tokyo - Honshu
None of the ships participating can start in New London (event starting point). The convoy starts in Cambridge, the BAF in Leeds, and the KNF in Kyushu. Pirates can start in any system with a suitable port for them with the exception of New London (starting point) and Cambridge (convoy grouping point). The convoy entering New London is the start signal for the event.
Hopefully, Hyperwave will still be able to participate and take the lead for the BAF. Joe12 has the lead for the convoy. Juan_Arquero, looks to be perfect for a bribed transport and just needs a pirate group to meet enroute. Xoria will have the payout at the end and I suggests plays the pirate to meet Juan_Arquero (thus giving us a Junker bribed transport). The Junkers can then arrange to meet Juan_Arquero somewhere in Bretonia (for example, the Junkers can start in say dublin, move into New London or Leeds and intercept the convoy; raiding it and completing a transfer with Juan_Arquero).
More transports and at least one more transport-pirate pair would be good (gives the Junkers some competition, suggest a Kusari group). Also an admin would be useful to help Joe12 with running the event (particularly as admins have the ability for Sirius-wide comms).
All participants will be receiving something for their participation. The minimum payout will be $5 million, if insufficient funds are available for providing that (ie. lots of participants) then those who do not receive their cut will be paid at a later date from funds stored on my ship.
Think that covers the plan, the event starts at 5pm GMT which is about 17 hours 15 mins from this post. More people that participate the better and most importantly roleplay and have fun with it.
I want to say this event has blossomed into what will be an extremely good time. I wrote intitial story, but I have to give the credit to Firebird for organizing it. He has helped this idea blossom into an amazing RP event. I cannot thank him enough for all of his help, from donating money to laying out the route and everything else. He deserves congrats of the highest degree. I myself have never hosted an event before, and his knowledge and hard work have helped me to understand how to run a good show. I only hope that I can return the favor someday!
I would also like to thank Juan-Aquero, and Xoria for the extra effort they have both put forward in the setup and operation of this event.
Initially, when I wrote the story, I had no idea that this event would take off like it has. I KNOW that everyone who can take part will have an ecxellent time, and make some money while they are at it. I cannot thank everybody who has contributed time, effort or manpower to helping me make this event possible. To all clan / factions / players who are participating, I look forward to tommorow night!
I will be aboard the Renius during pre-event setup, then switch chars to the Ciro as soon as the convoy is prepared to move out. All players who wish to participate, please contact me in-game ASAP so that orders and command assignments may be divied out as early as possible! Thanks Again!
I will be online 2 hours before event setup time, good flyng and good luck to everyone who comes along for what is shaping up to be a wild ride!:yahoo:

OK. How much do you mean by "excessive" marijuana?

I would think that a battleship should be worth more than a third cruiser, but I guess the military forces should have more firepower than the convoy, though I'm not happy about that conclusion.

That sounds good to me. Are any other pirate groups besides the Junkers going to attack the convoy? If so, I doubt that a bribed transport with matching tag will be there, such as GC, Outcast, etc.

Why is the route set in stone? Couldn't the convoy get routed by an attack with convoy members scattering in all directions and taking alternate routes? If that happened, the opposition would also be in total chaos, not knowing which way different subgroups of the convoy would get to their destination.

I don't know of any pirate bases in Cambridge (unless there is one that is Discovery only), but I think any Junker players should start on the Junker base in New London. If an Admin will participate, he can ensure that the Junker players stay on Trafalgar Base until the convoy enters New London, then the Junkers can launch and the race to intercept the convoy begins. I suspect that the probable interception point will be Southampton Shipyard, as that is a location frequented by Junkers and other pirates, not to mention that anybody using the trade lanes to get from Cambridge to Leeds will go past Southampton Shipyard.

The information about the other players sounds good, but if the Junkers are going to wait for Juan_Arquero, they're going to have a problem, since Juan_Arquero is in Kusari space in a freighter with no synthetic marijuana. You better tell the Junkers to look for Juan_Williams who has an Armored Transport, Trader ID, Junkers tag and will probably have a good supply of weed by tomorrow.

Have you asked Bushido if they will participate? Also, have you sent any PMs to any of the Admins to ask for their help?

The plan sounds excellent, except for a few small problems.
What's the pirate group going to be for Juan? I might be able to coordinate a few Gaians to do the job, if need be. If the job's already taken or there's a better candidate, that's cool. I just wanted to volunteer my services if there's a use for them.
' Wrote:OK. How much do you mean by "excessive" marijuana?
Fully loaded or as much as possible.
' Wrote:I would think that a battleship should be worth more than a third cruiser, but I guess the military forces should have more firepower than the convoy, though I'm not happy about that conclusion.
The military forces should have the ability to call on larger vessels, it is after all their primary systems and not an edge world. The numbers were choosen since the number of cruisers in the convoy should be a good indicator of how many people are involved. Likelyhood is that there won't be any battleships as the majority of ships will and should be gunboat or smaller. If the number of cruisers in the event did outnumber the smaller vessels then I think we'd all agree that something is wrong.
' Wrote:Are any other pirate groups besides the Junkers going to attack the convoy? If so, I doubt that a bribed transport with matching tag will be there, such as GC, Outcast, etc.
Hmm good point, the transports would likely have junker tags or some other inbetween party but delivering to a specific pirate group. Thus Juan_Williams should be able to meet with any pirate group. (ie. pick your partners).

Aye and the whole event would be a re-run of a past event where there was little action and just alot of chasing. Fun for the runner, rathering boring for everyone else. Route is fixed to ensure that interactions can occur (which is the point of the event). The fixed route does leave leeway for the jumpholes. Thus in most of the systems you'll have 2 ways in and 2 ways out, 1 jump-gate and 1 jump-hole. If things go belly up and the whole convoy fails before even leaving Bretonia, then it wouldn't be too difficult to reset back to the beginning and remove the fixed route option. But I HIGHLY suggest that for the first attempt and given the length of the route that it'd be fixed.

Agreeably, Trafalgar would be the best place for the junkers to start; however, leaving New London empty of participants makes it easy to verify when the event has started in the case that no admin is present. Also having no one in New London keeps things fair as technically the BAF could intercept on the doorstep at Cambridge based on the logic you've presented. Having New London empty ensures everyone starts at least 1 jump away from the convoy.

Just going with what info I had.

No direct PMs have been sent out (to my knowledge) to the admins or any faction specifically. Feel free to do so and direct their attention to this thread although they should have seen this already.
ADDED:
Keep also in mind that you're only allowed one character to participate in the event. Example, a member for say the BAF can't switch from a ship in New London to a ship in Tau-31 to get in front of the convoy after falling behind. The ship you start in should be the one you finish in. Die and that's it, your ship's disabled and having to wait to see the results (die, head to Holman and wait to collect X credits from Xorias).
