' Wrote:If you're going solo, I'd recommend moving to trading as soon as you have enough to buy a 600+ freighter until you have enough to get the Hegemon. I don't think Helium mining works as well with a non-mining ship, and trading quickly outpaces Helium. Once you have enough for the Hege, trade in for it and go mine your heart out.
I did the trading, and did good at it until I left for summer break. Since then, in order to get my FL fix I'm on a netbook with a 3G connection...i.e...lags horribly. With the lag, a lot of the times, before I can get the /sendcash completed to a pirate I get blown up. On average, before leaving for vacation they wait no more than 10-15 secs. With lag, it could be 20-30 before they see it. Thus, at least six times I've paid out the millions in tax, and still got blown up and lost the cargo.
My fault for playing with lag? Sure, you bet. I take full responsibility for that. I still want to play though, so with PvP (bounty & escort) and trading out, mining is my best option. Helium doesn't pay much in comparison, but I can eek out about 3 million in an hour or so and rarely get hassled. The lag may cause a delay in conversation over comms, but the RP is nice.
Now, it's true I could send cash from my trader to my miner, but I don't want to. Two of my characters are somewhat related, but the miner isn't, so getting a loan from a rich uncle doesn't fit the character. :)
No worries though, in a couple of weeks I'll be back for the summer semester and will have my regular connection back.

Take a screenshot of you sending the cash, along with the /time command. If they then blow you up, screenshot that with the /time command and file a sanction report.

Meh, not worried about it. RP-wise I can always put it down as sometimes pirates don't really let you go...dead traders tell no tales as it were. ;)
Besides, unless I make a statement as I enter every system "// Severe lag, will pay pirate tax, just give time for the msg to show", they won't know it until after they see the explosion. Anwyay, it just doesn't suit me.
I had one occasion where I thought I shouldn't have been fired upon and it turns out I'd done the /droprep command to fix IFF on the wrong character, so the offending party was in fact within their ROE when they didn't see my reply in reasonable time (on their end). That's been worked out via PM's instead of public posts. Complaining in public is something I just don't see me doing when I'm the rookie on this server.
The only one I'm going to report happened today in PA. A ship by the name of *******, a deep space explorer, with a Corsair ID and IFF was preying on rookie pilots. Thus he was in violation of Corsair law, plus the server rules on attacking civilian pilots under level 30. I killed him twice, but instead of leaving the system he kept re-engaging. Others shot him down as well. He's apparently a lousy pirate, and after his 4th or 5th death, changed to a Zoner ID and STILL tried to re-engage instead of leaving. When I said I'd come after him in my freighter, he ran off...finally.
He was irritating, obviously not a real member of the Corsair faction, and a PITA, but with all my lag and boredom, it was actually one of the highlights of my day. It's not often I can manage a victory in a transport versus a more powerful player.

PS Another 12 mil and i've got my Hegemon
PPS I have the screen shots and as soon as I get them uploaded to my photobucket account, I'll do the reporting on this Fremon-D ship.
' Wrote:Station docking is a major problem suddenly. I saw like 15 Times last 10h in the same constellation that 3-4 NPC-ships are frozen on the 3 common positions where Player dockingsequence usualy starts (for example as below (pictures) 2x 50m infront of side ports and 1x in front of tower, or even 4 nicely stacked above eachother infront of an Planet mooring fixure).
I watched this scene for 10 more minutes (in an empty heg) and nothing changed.
So this renders stations completly undockable (not even quickdocking) unless one shoots one of the docking vessels so it then brakes off docking. But soon I found myself in a very very nasty situation trying just that and in consequence suddenly having a dockingring, a Planet, a Lanepart and a Battleship opening fire at me (for one(!) single shot at some frozen, docking and even unalied npc).
Adding to this,I am starting to see npc docking gridlock at all bases/planets/stations wherever I have been the past few days......

I had this same problem docking at Malta and the nearby shipyard with my Outcast character yesterday and the day before. I thought it was jut me, but a friend with me had a similar problem. Also, the mission boards were defective at both locations. A mission was given and a waypoint, but no NPC's to battle, and had to either abort the mission or log off/on to clear it. Tried several times, no successful mission generation, yet did get the rep cut because of the aborts. (managed to get it and my IFF back fighting BHG NPC's that keep attacking Malta).

FYI, rule violation reports are not public, and people other than mods/admins can't see them . By the same token, you shouldn't announce someone's name publicly on the forum when they're doing something wrong--that counts as "trial by forum" and is not allowed.
If you want to make a rule violation report, make a thread in the forum that's made for that purpose. The thread will not be visible to anyone except moderators and admins.

Ooops sorry if I caused a problem. I will send the info via the link. Primary issue for reporting isn't the PvP, it's the Corsair being in PA and raiding under level 30 players.
Again, sorry I listed the name, will edit the post for those who haven't seen it.

The Hood is really becoming a problem for it, but it can't be argued that the mining is good. i'm not totally sure, but i'm taking a educated guess that the other battleships in other systems might be suffering from the same problem
