" I don't love you, I never did, it was all a lie. now you can sleep with all the slavers you want! Happy now? Now you can go frak all the slavers you want without feeling guilty!"
Izumi turned away with a pain. Every single word stabbed her in the heart like a dagger. She staggered down to the hangar. She doesn't even have her ship here. Izumi heard voices of Connie and Joanna upstairs but she didn't listen to them. Tears started to flow from her eyes. Mixture of feelings. Hatred on herself for letting the alcohol to take control of her body and head. Joanna's words echoed in her mind again.
She saw no point in continuing this. For her this ended now. Izumi took out the gun from her and belt and aimed it on her heart. Her body was shaking now as she cried loudly. She closed her eyes and pushed the trigger. Gun loudly spat the bullet in her chest and Izumi fell on her back. The nanites in her body furiously tried to stop the bleeding but weakened after fight with Rachel's nanites - they were failing. Izumi's T-shirt began to get wet from her own blood. Her view blurred from her tears now started to get darker and last thing she heard was sound of someone running towards her.
They say that before you die whole your life goes in front of your eyes. A desperate try of your mind to stop you from leaving into the shadows.
Izumi was lying under the bed watching her parents to argue. Then her mother took the gun out of nowhere and aimed it at her father.
"You are just another from these man that oppress the Kusari women. I am talking Izumi to Chrysanthemums. We are going to have a better life there." she said
"Don't you dare! Are you going to make from yourself cardamine addicts! If you want to go, you can! But Izumi will stay here." he said and moved towards Mazuko. In that moment the gun fired and he fell on the ground. Her mother spat on his face and took Izumi in her hands.
---
"Nice little girl you are" one of the Chrysanthemums looked at 13 years old Izumi.
Mazuko blushed proudly.
"You can leave Mazuko-san" elder said and gave her cardamine breather. Mazuko leaned for Izumi but Elder stopped her.
"Leave her here, I will talk with her a bit"
Mazuko looked suprised but nodded and left the room. Izumi was scared. She looked down the floor. Elder smiled mischievously.
"Take off you clothes little girl"
---
Izumi was sitting in the hangar bay and repairing old Dagger. She was dirty from oil and one wouldn't almost recognize that it's 16 years old girl repairing it. She connected the two circles and ship electronics powered up. She smiled and closed the hull plate. He mother was again intoxicated in her quarters. The hangar bay started opening. Izumi took her chance and jumped into the cockpit. She hit the throttle and flew from the base.
---
Izumi went for the plates with drinks. She took it from the bar and went to the tables. Izumi put it on the table. Large hand caught her around her waist.
"Come sit here darling" man grinned at her with half of his tooth missing. She looked at him with disgust. Izumi was about to punch him but then thought slipped through her mind. You are running out of the money and if you don't pay for the room tomorrow they will kick you and you will loose this job.
She turned back
"If you have money" she tried to smile
"Oh yeah I have! Lot of money!" he pointed at his lap
"Fine, I don't love you, I never did, it was all a lie because I couldn't allow you and her *points at Connie* to get married" Uhoh... happy now? now you can go frak all the slavers you want without feeling guilty!
Izumi just turned around and ran to the hangar bay. It was so painful... She couldn't stand it anymore.
Concordia looked at Joanna and sighed "What was the point to be so rude with her..." "no what's with you? for a brief amount of time I was fine when I became a zoner! Until I met you!"
Joanna sounded exasperated but Concordia didn't really understand why... She looked at her "sister", surprised "you bring nothing but trouble Concordia! nothing, you ruin peoples lives! now get the frak off my ship"
She looked at her with anger. "before I throw you off!" "Uhhh.." She maded her sorry face "You see... You make the vacuum around you... And then you wonder why you are alone!"
She wanted to hug her but something in Joanna's voice told her she souldn't.
Suddenly, without any warning, Joanna clenched her fist and punched Concordia in the face.
she yelled hysterically "GET OUT!"
Concordia fell to the ground "Ouch...!" She massaged her cheek "What's wrong with you?!"
She found Joanna behavior quite strange. She never acted like this before.
Concordia thought her sister could be mean at times, or angry... But she never looked so close to lose her self control.
Uncertain of the reasons, she was quite confused..
Joanna raised her fist to Concordia another time and she hid behind her arms
Suddenly they could hear a weak echo of gunfire from the hangar bay and right after... nothing. "What was that noise?" said Concordia, still hiding behind her arms.
"get... -off- my ship!" "Fine fine!" She got on her feet and ran to the hangar
She found there Izumi lying on the ground, a puddle of blood surrounding her.
Concordia sat near her and called for help...
At the same time, Joanna was raging...
As soon as Concordia left, she started to throw stuffs and to kicked things over...
While Concordia was sitting next to her and yelling for help. Izumi's mind continued to return in her past
--
Izumi sniffed a cardamine line from the table. The worst curse she brought from Ainu. The more she tried to resist it, the harder it was. She always ended up being nervous and her hands shaking. Today she wanted to be perfectly calm. The room spinned around her as the cardamine started to get in her veils. Izumi had a meeting on one of the Leeds scrapyards. Whole Planet Leeds was scrapyard of the rest of the Sirius.
She left her hired flat and took a shuttle there. The man was already waiting for her.
"Goo'morning, lass!"
She just nodded and said "So where is the ship?"
He smiled at her with his golden tooth
"Oh here, here! The best you can get for this price!" he grinned at his own words.
He led her to another part of the scrapyard and then she saw it. The wreck of an old Democritus yacht. Izumi gasped. It was even worse than she thought.
"Nice ain't it!" he smiled again
"Lovely" she muttered
The wreck was almost nothing than hull, everything that could be at least a bit valuable was stripped off. Engines, electronics, seats, powercore. Everything. Just a skeleton left.
"It doesn't look great now... But you have to think about it in future! Great business possibility!"
Izumi sighed. Maybe it was a mistake but she couldn't live that forever. She wanted freedom. The only freedom that space could offer her. Forget about her past and start again. Be free and without bounds. She turned at the dealer.
"I will take it" she said
"Amazing!" he smiled, happy that he can get rid of this unsaleable wreck, he took out his neuralpad and prepared the deal.
She gave him the check with 1 million credits, her last money. The money she saved for her freedom.
He looked at it
"I thought that the deal was 1,5 million lassie" he was about to return it
She looked in his eyes.
"You didn't say in the deal that this is nothing more than a damn hull. Take 1 million or that thing will sit you here till the end of your days."
He thought for a few seconds just for the show. He was already decided.
"Alright hon, you will rip me from my own skin and leave me with naked butt, but you have it."
She nodded and took the confirmation from him. Great, now she is proud owner of the biggest wreck in the Sirius. Izumi smiled at ship.
She kept yelling and finally two men entered in the deserted hangar.
- "Ah well... What's the problem girl? You cannot open the hatch of your ship alone?"
- "The commander told us to help you to sod off, little girl"
She looked at them while trying to push on the wound "Help me damnit!"
They finally noticed Izumi. "What a dirty girl you are... You killed her?"
She rolled her eyes
- "No! I found her like that"
- "They all say that" The guard chuckled and grinned at his mate.
- "What should we then? Help her to finish the job? All this blood..." The second guard shook his head "It's not nice to dirty Cornelia Marie's hangar bay.... Tsssk tsssk"
Concordia started to panic. Izumi blood made her hands slippery and it was clear she couldn't stop the bleeding like that.
- "What are you waiting? Call a medic!"
The guard crossed his arms and looked at her
- "We didn't receive any order to... So..." He looked at his mate "I guess we will just watch..."
- "I don't really want to ask new orders to the commander anyway... She seems quite angry and she would probably shoot us."
- "Idiots!"
She hated to cry. She was close to.
Seems she would have to take care of this herself. "Well help me to carry her in the unicorn at least!"
The two guards remained still during several seconds. Finally, the first guard sighed and scratched his hairs. He then shrugged. "Ah well... Seems we won't avoid it..." He was tempted to just walk away...
They approached and carried Izumi to the unicorn. They then dropped her on the tiny bed inside the small quarters of Concordia's ship.
She was searching in the mess of her quarters. There should be a medkit somewhere...
"Damnit! That [A.D.M.I.N Censored] dirtied my clothes with her stupid blood!" Yelled a guard as he looked at himself.
She turned around and pushed them out, kicking their butt. "Out"
The second guard sticked is head in the airlock door "Not even a thank you? I thought you would do a little something for us... In return" He winked.
She didn't turn her head to reply, still searching... "I'd love to honey... But i don't have time for that"
Concordia then closed the airlock and the guard was smart enough to get his head off the hold before it closed.
She finally found the medkit and started to patch Izumi's wound.
The girl didn't know however if she would be okay... There could be internal bleeding... Or damaged critical organs... How could she know?!
After thinking a bit, she decided to move to '49 and try to catch John...
Ensuring Izumi was stabilized for now, she then moved to her cockpit and asked to launch.
The dock officer was more than willing to let her, as Joanna ordered already to throw her out.
She then checked her old nav maps and began the trip allowing them to reach Canaria...
