In this late hour of the night, the door to Christy's opened.
It was Constable George Miles, looking like crap.He waved at Christy and smiled, asked for a hot cup of tea and appoached the table in the corner.
He was thinking about all that have happened that day...The fighting with the Corsairs wasn't what was torturing him. It was the innocent lifes he has taken,so he can protect his career, his life.
His meeting with this freelancer...and the alien stones he carried...All those things will never leave his mind.
He had to cover that incident with the alien artifacts or he would've lost his job and most likely put in prison for life. Now he was not worried about that, because he made sure no evidence is left...And no witnesses...The only man who knew what really happened that day was the freelancer...George shouldn't have been worried about him oppening his mouth because they were in this together...but still he had doubts about it...
After drinking his tea,he went to sleep, unnoticed, because Christy was busy cleaning behind the bar..She only heard the bell on the door when closed.
Pouring with rain outside, the door opened as Reena, half turned around to argue, came in. "Why do we have to in here? There's nothing absolutely to drink!" "There's plenty to Drink Reena!" Aurelia pushed her way in, dragging Reena along with her "Yeah, tea! Look, I know a nice bar not far from here, we wouldn't get wet at all. It serves real drinks and as a matter of fact I know a few gu--" "I know that bar as well, and despite it being a lovely place, WE'RE NOT GOING. Since I don't feel like anything heavy after doing a Convoy run to Liberty"
Aurelia had never really taken any notice of tea before ordered the first name that caught her eye, Reena spent several minutes glowering at the list before ordering one herself along with a small selection of scones for both of them. Despite evidence to the contrary Reena had grown up with 'Proper' upbringing and although it seemed to have had no effect on her at all she did at least know what to order with tea.
Finding an unoccupied spot to sit down, Aurelia tried her best to relax and ignore the unfamiliar presence of so many officers. Reena had already pulled out what seemed to be personal flask for some recess in her uniform and was adding a generous amount to her tea.
Aurelia never liked the Convoys to Liberty, let alone working so close to the LPI. It came too close to things in her past which she'd taken pains to hide.
Glacing up as the door opened again she saw a handsome young officer walk in, Reena just as quick to notice, had already sat up straighter and was watching him intently. Aurelia sighed, it was just one of those days.
Junior Constable Morgan Hamilton entered Christy's feeling about nervous, he had heard that this was the place his fellow officers used to go to after hours but he had no idea what kind of place it would be.
As he entered he couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed, he was more the stiff drink type than the tea and scones man this place obviously catered to. Regardless, he went on in, he was here to get to know his colleagues, not for the sake of the tea.
The door creaks open as Junior Constable Lily Devereaux strolls into the place she heard many things about. She is eager to begin socializing in a more casual setting with her fellow coworkers. Her heels fill the silence in the room. Not much is going on aside from a few patrons making small conversation. Lily's vibrant red dress flowed as she found a booth in the corner and took a seat.
She kicks her feet up, leans back, and closes her eyes. After her long and frightful day, she, for once, actually quite enjoys the silence. For now.
Constable Wallace enters christy's after a hard days patrol for some cupcakes and tea and is wecolmed warmly by the teller and orders a nice tea and some delicius cupcakes after eat a dozen and during his last sip of his tea he hears on his radio from dispatch that there are pirates around and he is required to move out so he moves to pay and orders a cupcake for the road and returns to his ship...
Jayne could hardly wait as the sky taxi arrived at Christy's. Not only would he have the chance to see his pals and sip tea for so long, he had also agreed to meet up with an trader lass he escorted all the way to Omega-3 a few weeks back. 'Ah, look who finally decided to come around.' Thomas said. Jayne hadn't seen Page before his break, but, after plenty of patrolling with him, he could tell he's a most fascinating fellow, and a joy to hang out with. And although the tea tasted better than ever before ,probably because it cost more than ever before (darn war, he thought), he was anxious to meet that redhead trader in person. Finally, she came around. "Jayne, is that you?" she said. "Yes, in flesh and bones", he replied. "Strange, I expected a woman with that name.", she remarked. That was the moment Jayne understood the only thing he would do with her that afternoon was drink tea. A few hours later, duty called, and he rushed out of Christy's to the launch pad. He made a mental note to pay the tab next time he was there.
"Oi oi, you owe 10$", the clerk said as soon as White entered Christy's.
"Alright, alright! I might as well buy you a Starflier for Pete's sake, it'd be cheaper." Jayne mumbled.
The Cafe gathered the usual croud, but he was really happy to see Inspector Bailey after so long. Their shifts were not matching, and they hadn't seen each other in a long time.
"A little bird told me you swapped your Hussar's water dispenser for a tea one. Is that true?" she said, ready to burst in laughter but at the same time keeping a professional stance.
"Damn you Page.", White groaned as he was sipping his Earl Gray (the same flavour he had on his Hussar).
"You could get sanctioned for that." Miranda said, "or you could help me install mine later."
Jayne almost breathed a sigh of relief there.
"Sure, just get some tea packs from the counter over there. I'll drop by the BPA HQ to file a report and I'll be meet you at the parking lot."
That meant he wouldn't have enough time to see a Rugby match that was on, but he figured he'd just record it and watch it later, while sipping tea in his Hussar.
Seargent Wallace enters christy's for the first time as a seargent and is congragulated by the beutiful cashier he takes a seat at a table and orders some of those amazing cupcakes and a tea and relaxes after a hard day of fighting corsairs and Frogs as he is siping his tea some more officers enter the shop and join him, after eating almost all of the cupcakes in the shop wallace believes it is time to gome home as he moves to the cashier he is greeted with a smile and asks to pay to his amazment the cupcakes are on the house as congragulatory present for his promotion so he pays for his tea and heads for the ship just as he puts his helmet on he hears the radio go off *all units respond pirates attacking civilians* wallace sighs (it never ends) *this is seargent wallace responding code 3* and flies off emergancy lights blazing.
Walking in from the rain, Page closes the door behind him and dries himself as best he could before hanging up his coat and heading to the till...
"Afternoon miss, the usual for me please."
"You know you get to call me Christy now Tom, you've definitely grown up enough since you first started coming in here with your grandfather."
"Old habit's die hard, miss; maybe one of these days I'll get round to first-name terms".
"Ok then Const- sorry, Sergeant Page. Deary me, you're going up the ranks faster than I can get used to. Here's your tea" she said, while passing over the large Cambridge University mug that Page had brought with him upon joining the force.
"I'd also like to pay Constable White's tab. I lost a bet he couldn't get a date with that woman he brought in here before, and you of all people know what he is like with paying for stuff here..."
"All right Tom, I'll add his $41 to your tab."
"41 credits, the cheeky blig- *ahem*, fine."
Turning round with his mug of tea, Page spots Constables White and Rowser enjoying a quiet break from their patrols. Not quiet for long...
"Speak of the devil, Jayne, I have just come upon your sizeable tab. Letting you escort that trader lass was more trouble than I thought!" he said.
"I don't think either of us got what we were expecting, but still worth it to get my bills paid."
"At least I don't feel guilty about letting your Hussar's 'secret' tea dispenser modification be known to Bailey. Told you she'd appreciate the idea instead of getting it removed."
"You have a tea dispenser in your ship? That's so cool!" piped in Rowser.
"Well have you tried to bring a cup of tea with you during take-off?" joked White.
"I've heard it can be quite a hassle", said Page, "Now what's this I have been hearing about this Colonial woman you've met?"
The three of them continued to joke to each other (mostly at Rowser's expense), knowing Bretonia would be safe enough in the hands of the other officers... at least for a little while.
