So Ive joined OSC and now I want to buff liners I'm biased rrrrraaaarggghh.
On the boring serious hand, how can we encourage liners to be used for passengers, and passengers to be carried only in liners?
Liners have less space, because more is taken up with passeger amieneties, and passengers take up more space cos - they dont want to be stacked up like crates. So the most obvious solution would be to make it so that liners dont suffer the passenger extra space penalty, as they are already outfitted with seats instead of cargo shelves, and already suffer the cargo penalty for that. So for instance a royal liner would be able to carry like 3 and a half thousand passengers.
However this would make liners TOO good probably, so perhaps increase passenger price - say add an extra 4k onto all prices - so the profits don't increase (from the price increase) but the risk does. I think this would also be good because passengers are people, so making them more expensive will mean people will care more about not letting them get hurt, and people SHOULD care more about people than consumer goods.
What do you think, any alternative suggestions, I did this one because it seemed simpler for the admins/devs - just adding 4k, not rebalancing the whole passenger trade.
p.s. Passenger here to refer to all human cargo.

First one aare House Laws altered to make the ship designed for moving human cargo the only ones that can move the said cargo; but it's harsh and it will make people complain that they can't trade with little or no roleplay in their Storks because of House Laws.
Second one is that yachts are faster than any other transport, having 20 ms advantage htat allows them to escape the gunboats and transports with ease. Democritus is just a nice ship with roleplay opportunities and Geisha, due to seven turrets and CD mount is a good ship for evnetual piracy. Once again, mind the superior speed.
And, doh, give Democritus a CD mount in addition to gunboat turret. Make it a true killer.

Only Liners, Yachts and the Armored Transport should be carriers of human cargo. Everything else is quite ooRP to my mind. VIPS are not the bulk cargo type!

well regular ships travel at about 59. The yacht travels at 99.
Make sure that your class 8 turret is Solaris, and that the other turrets are all small transport turrets. That way you'll use a lot less energy.
EDIT: the yacht is a yacht. It's a transport yes, but a yacht non-the less.
That Comms Channel message was not the right way to contact House Governments. You have concerns about an ooRP issue, so don't send an inRP message about it.
I disagree, even if this was applied id still send that com message, the inrp concern of passengers being transported in unsuitable conditions would be, if anything, even more pressing.

It was a nice step, strange that noone did it before. I'd strengthen my point by issuing a bonus fee (not a bounty, that wouldn't be the lawful thing to do :$) for unfitting transports with passengers forced to land and release their 'load' from the cargo-deck.
Just make sure that they understand that you don't want transports destroyed in the process - it's still better to be hauled in a Titanic than to float in space.
Or don't do that. I'm not sure if it's possible within the rules. But still it looks the logical step with inrp reasons.
EDIT: Maybe sponsor a group of decent unlawfuls to do so?:$
