To Whom It May Concern,
my name is Ezrael Vertiga, Captain of Battleship Apahanta. I contact you today in order to request Liberty's permission to assist the efforts of the Naval Alliance Treaty Organization (NATO) in securing primarily the Curacao system with the help of Battleship Apahanta, a light battleship. While both the Treaty of Curacao of 821 and 817 do not necessarily state the illegality of foreign warships not belonging to Gallia, I wish to avoid any possible troubles between entities that wish to ensure the peace on Curacao and in the Cortez system.
Earlier I already successfully established agreements with the Kingdom of Bretonia, represented by Admiral McIntire of the Bretonia Armed Forces as well as with the Republic of Crayter, represented by Elijah Bison of the Sabah Shipyard Permissions Bureau. Note this request is not about a foreign capital ship entering Liberty space, I am quite aware of how Liberty handles this and so far temporal agreements with the 5th Fleet have proven to be enough to deal with emergency cases. So this is matter of factly only about the presence of Battleship Apahanta in the Cortez system, and in case of a tactical strike on the Gallic Forces in Magellan, also for the Magellan system by extent, as well as for on-spot cooperations in both systems.
Please inform me if there is anything else I should need to know for future cooperations against Gallia's invasion.
Your inquiry has been received by the Department of Defense. However before we move on to a resolution a few clarifications should be made.
As stated in the Treaty of Curacao, while all signatories are permitted to enforce within the territories of Cortez and Magellan, the territories are distributed as below.
Taken from the Treaty of Curacao 821 AS:
Article I - Governance Wrote:Clause 4: The trade lanes within Magellan and Cortez were nationalized in the Treaty of Curacao of 817 AS (see appendix iii) by the House Governments of Liberty and Bretonia. Trade lanes in the eastern half of both systems were passed into the ownership of the Liberty Government. Trade lanes in the western half of both systems were passed into the ownership of the Bretonian Government. A ten kilometer radius around the jump point to Coronado, with the exclusion of Planet Curacao and its immediate orbit, are now passed into ownership of the Crayter Republic Government. From there, the rest of both systems are now passed into joint ownership of the Liberty Government and Bretonian Government.
Therefore while much of the territory is shared, and since you are permitted by the Kingdom of Bretonia and the Crayter reputblic, you retain the right to operate in Crayter and Joint Liberty/Bretonia space for as long as you are not a hostile entity to any of the signatories. However, you are to retain a minimal distance of 15k from Lanes belonging to the Repubic of Liberty and refrain from interfering, verbally or otherwise, towards commerce and Naval Alliance Treaty Organization (NATO) military vessels and assets within the designated space.
Now that that is clarified, I have to say that even though there is no recorded threat or so coming from your side, the Liberty forces still have little or no information towards you or your ship. Therefore until more of your intentions and motives regarding the Gallic presence, self-identification, your vessel's affiliation and so in is made available, not much more can be granted by the Republic of Liberty.

Secretary McKay,
the conditions are reasonable and a solid foundation for future cooperation. To answer your questions, I am an independent capital ship captain, a born Curacaoan, concerned about the advance of the Gallic forces in the Independent Worlds. With Freeport 4 being destroyed, the threat has never been more real. Everyone knows about the battles in Magellan and Bretonia. Gallic ships have been sighted in Leeds, New London, Dublin, Edinburgh, Newcastle and even Manchester. They are in Magellan. They are in Manchester. They are just one jump away from Cortez and Curacao, and while I trust in the capabilities of the combined forces of Crayter, Bretonia and Liberty as well as some smaller groups in Cortez, I doubt we can risk denying the assistance of more possible supporters.
I command a Mako-class light battleship, something that in theory should have an advantage against the giant Valor-class battleships of Gallia in terms of manouverability. I believe the 5th| fleet knows my ship already rather well as it was part of a cooperative expedition in a system we refer to as US-IV. Back then, thanks to the cooperation with the Rheinwehr and 5th| Fleet, we were able to leave the system, as well as to return to our base in the Omicrons by moving through Liberty and Rheinland with the permission of the local authorities. While the Apahanta is mostly used as research ship, currently especially on the research on Narcrahtite and the sudden and drastical increase of unstable jump holes all around Sirius, it still has warship capabilities and is suited for taking down heavy battleships.
Since we're independent, we run under Freelancer-like affiliation and are allied with the Confederation of Freeports and Bretonia, in good relations to Crayter, the Ingenuus Research Group, the Canaan Research Group and the Junker Congress. On the other hand, we're hostile to Gallia and the Lane Hackers, so we're having two common enemies. Neither me nor my crew or my ship have been involved in any unlawful actions against the four houses and we're not interested in changing that. We're all sitting in the same boat, and have to survive the next wave of Gallia.
