' Wrote:Well you work for WoTs so i figured you may have some insight as to why they are all insane, and think the M4 is Tier7 when the ARL is a tier 6 and better all around.
Also come to think of it that colour did suck. How is this one?
I don't work for WG, nor have I ever worked for WG.
I have been a volunteer Lead Super Moderator for the NA server and forums, as well as a Lead Super Moderator for the EU server and forums, since beta untill the hiring of paid staff took place.
On NA, with the lower player numbers, the hired GameMasters and the local volunteer moderators can handle it now.
On EU, the Paris office took over in March, and have hired both CommunityCoordinator staff in-office, as well as Freelancer Moderators located in the various countries with large enough communities, to deal with the moderation in-game and on the forums. I was offered a position both in Paris, as well as a Freelancer Moderator, but declined for tax reasons for the latter, and not wishing to relocate to Paris for the former (at least not for the salary offered).
I am not a moderator on the NA server and forums anymore, although I am still called upon for advice and participation in various events there.
I am the last remaining Volunteer moderator, keeping my old Lead Super Moderator title, on the EU server, by special request from the Minsk based Head office financial department. But that is still not work, since I am not payed (except in exuberant amounts of Vodka and redheaded female company if I get to Minsk).
I've made a lot of friends within the company, and have a standing invitation to come and visit them in Minsk, as well as in the NA office in San Francisco. Probably going to take them up on it, one day soon. Almost made it to Minsk this year, if it hadn't been for the bureacracy in Latvia, during our MC trip there.
Ahh ok my bad. I just remember a post you made awhile back that they paid better then Disco. So i assumed you worked for them now.
Sooo....you are free to come back to Disco and help sort through the mess here:crazy: just kidding. But i bet they could use you.

My pay during my tenure as host for the disco server and later the forums was 6 bottles of beer supplied by Majkp.
My pay during my tenure as LSM for the NA WoT server and forum was 250 in game gold pr day I actively moderated.
My pay during tenure as LSM for the EU WoT server and forum was 250 in game gold pr day I actively moderated, untill the changeover in march regarding volunteer moderators. After that date my pay for continuing as LSM on request from Minsk HQ, has been a special WG T-shirt, a bottle of W.o.t.k.a, and several invites to visit Minsk with all expenses paid.
The Freelancer Moderators who took over after the volunteer mods on WoT EU in march are currently paid around 250 euro after taxes a month, for moderating their language specific sections on the forums, as well as moderate in-game when they are playing. The Community Coordinators working from the paris office, and the NA GameMasters working from the San Francisco office are payed a competitive salary higher than normal in the industry.
When I was working on the Latvian translation, I was first paid 20k gold per update. After that I got offered to move to a contract and pay in euros, sadly uni kicked in at the time.
Yeah, they do pay well.
