[SPOILER] Halo 3: how do you interpret the ending?

supposedly master chief gets sucked into a bomb shelter made to warp people stationed on the halo ring in the event that it gets activated, there there is other spartan's etc. or so i heard anyway.

where was it that i read that im sure it was semi official i know halo 3 aint gonna be the last almost positive of it, reason they scored his name into the monument was to make you go OMFG HE GOT KILLED. but we are talking about microsoft here cummon boy's if they can get a quick buck out of you they will do it

and isnt that halo RTS (cant remember the name) all about the spartan/covenant war?

oh and dont forget the mastermind behind it all (that octopus thing from 2 that takes the aribiter and chief down into that hole thing, and the thing that attacks you in 3 AINT dead, well not that was specified anyway
