"I'm going to be particularly earnest with you Ms... Derringer," Walker frowned, his features sagging slightly. "Authority? Only problem I have with it is when people circumvent my own. Julia Wolfe? Yeah she was the Assistant Deputy Director of the LSF, so what? Less than a month into the job and she comes around to a blockade I'm organizing and tells me I'm doing it wrong. Then starts ordering my men to positions halfway across the system when our targets are six minutes out. Last I checked, my job was to bag and tag offenders, not take orders from green incompetent hired eye candy. Last I checked also, her job was to help run an Agency, not to supervise and handle Agents, and not to do field work. Needless to say I brushed her off, target came in, we bagged 'em, then we were out of there."
Walker leaned in closer, "The way I see it, either one of two things happens when you screw up. One, you get struck by lightning courtesy of yours truly. Two, you run away and see if lightning can strike the same place twice. Which many found out that it can, and it did. I worked my way up in the LSF and almost near bypassed the AIT program." Walked smirked, "When I got my way I got results, it was quick, it was professional, and it was efficient." Walker offhandedly counted off his fingers.
"Later on, politicians changed and other people retired. People above me started micromanaging everything they had their fingers in. Most of the changes they made were just pure stupidity- And that isn't from a difference in opinion. When someone tells you to look down the barrel of a Plasma Repeater, that is stupid regardless of perception. I believe that succinctly sums it all up for 'ya. By all means, I'll take orders, I'm as loyal and faithful as they come. I just don't put up with deranged imbecility. Simple enough."
