Near a month has passed since she first set foot inside the Mercrosis.
Her walk, the way she moved was now a fluid motion like she wanted.
The bio-components that were used to 'rebuild' her finally linked together and she could feel whole
for the first time.
Somewhat exhilarating to walk and run without problems, but still she did not liked the feeling.
She grew used to pain in those months in the Gallic hell called Planet Nevers, with the ever looming eyes of the DeFrances and their ways.
But now, she was back.
While she moved through the myriad of people within the Mecrosis, the used up yellow hood concealed her face, but gave out the obvious signal to the people there.
She was the Sec Chief. Someone that over the course of this month, the crew learned to respect..
And to fear a little, for her eyes were keen and unyielding.
Kaze Dagon, now 'Dee', walked into the Blood Money with one specific purpose in mind.
To talk to her boss, Silver.
And there she was, sitting at her booth.
With a brisk, almost military like nod, she looked at the seat near Silver.
And with a curt nod back, Silver signaled her to sit.
"What's the matter, Chief? More wannabes trying to kill us?"
Kaze Dagon grabbed a small cigar, finely made, and lighted it up.
"I wish it was that, Lady Silver."
She inhaled the smoke, and Silver sensed the smell of it.
"Lady Silver. What the frack is up with that? I ain't that respectable."
Kalliste looked at Dagon's cigar case.
"'Sair cigars?"
Kaze opened the case, and offered one to Kalliste, which promptly took one and lighted it up.
"You are the.. 'boss'.. A certain degree of decorum is needed. But etiquette isn't what brought me here, ma'am. It is Black."
Kalliste exhaled the smoke and obviously enjoyed the smooth strong taste with the whisky.
She then looked at Dagon with a raised eyebrow.
"'What 'bout Black? He's off huntin' in the Omegas, last i heard."
There was a tense moment when the two women looked at one another.
"He isn't, ma'am. Due to his background, i kept a close eye on him.
And some things caught my eye."
Dagon grabbed her data-pad and gave it to Kalliste.
"I have found that he has requested several weapons from our cache. More than he can use. Also, he has been accessing the database to copy several old contracts that your Company had in the past."
Kalliste continued smoking and that arched eyebrow, arched a little more.
"So? He might be preparing new ships and keep tab on who we shot in the past. Nothin' new, did that myself."
The data-pad flared to life and Kalliste looked at it.
"I have found traces of an encrypted message to him to a representative of the Order. And it went back and forth."
Kalliste's arched eyebrow desisted and her face could be seen as a menacing one.
"Order.. You think he's selling the company out?"
Dagon inhaled the cigar smoke once more.
"Very likely giving the convergent factors of his past."
Her boss growled.
"Hunt him down. Stick him to a wall. Make him spill his guts. I want everything recorded."
She nodded and replied.
"Already ahead of you. He was last seen in Liberty. I will find him."
Dagon rose up from the seat and finished the cigar, while Kalliste grabbed another glass of Jack Daniels.
"If ye find out he is doing what we think he's doing.. Show what happens when someone tries to cross the Reavers. Show him what Death is 'bout."
Dagon nodded.
"I will show him fear first. It just makes death all the more sweeter to show."
As Kaze walked away, Kalliste felt a chill down her spine, and shook it off.
