[font=Microsoft Sans Serif] One hour ago a small combined Legion and Xeno strike-package was dispatched from the Ouray Perimeter to deal with a reported Liberty Rogue presence in the New York system. The strike-package consisted of the Gunboat Undaunted, under command of Fleet Admiral Steele, the Gunboat Charybdis, under command of Fleet Captain Brass, Xeno Alliance Serpentis Wing Leader Jonathon "DeathAdder" Jones and Serpentis Wing Pilot Roland Johnson piloting Strike-Bombers. They were later joined by another Xeno regular, Buck Johnson, piloting his Griffin.
Unfortunately their biological selves were unable to pin-point the Rogues' location in the area, with only vague intelligence data available at the time being. A system-wide sweep was ordered with the additional priority of attacking and exterminating all targets of opportunity present otherwise.
The first of these was a Navy Gunboat, the Braveheart. It was Intercepted by the Undaunted as it was making a run for the Manhattan Perimeter and [color=#FF9900]subsequently destroyed.
The second was a Rogue Bomber, the "Illegal Opinion". Cornered and without means of escape, the pilot opted to crash his Barghest into Manhattan's atmosphere rather than calling for reinforcements, much to my artificial self's chagrin.
The sweep continued afterwards but further Rogue elements largely escaped detection, presumably having scurried back into the Badlands. Instead the strike-package encountered another Navy Gunboat in the Norfolk Perimeter, the Zardoz. The outcome of that encounter needs no mention.
What happened much at the same time was the encounter with the Battleship Mukiwa. High Command is well-aware of its existence, but given that the captain prefers to one day fire upon Legion elements and chooses to cooperate and slaughter the Navy on a different day, it has been preemptively classified as a hostile element. Seeing as this time the captain had chosen to open fire on Legion Forces, the strike-package retaliated with force.
During the fight the vessel managed to escape despite Cruise Disruptor bombardment, leading the present force into the local star's corona, but the chase continued. In the end the Mukiwa was cornered between Legion and Xeno elements and the star's radiation, and the captain chose to try his luck in fighting his way out. Unfortunately Roland Johnson fell victim to the Mukiwa's artillery, but was avenged swiftly thereafter.
With no further targets of opportunity present within the strike-package's destructive reach, the RTB-order was issued, concluding this operation. As a minor "bonus", Legion and Xeno forces managed to also shoot down four less-relevant hostile strike-craft during the whole sweep.
Furthermore, as a direct result of this relatively successful operation and his dedicated service to the Legion as well as his ability to take the initiative on the battlefield, together with a rather exemplary service record, the biological self of Fleet Captain Markus Brass is hereby promoted to the rank of Fleet Commander. My artificial self congratulates you Commander, and the 'I' is hereby reassigning you to your new post as the auxiliary commanding officer of the Battleship Libertine, as soon as you have completed all your other duties regarding the Gunboats Charybdis and Scylla.
On a related note, High Command has decided to bestow the title and rank of Fleet Marshal upon the former Fleet Admiral Atheus. As is well-known among most of your biological selves, Atheus has served the Legion for a very long period of time, and while he may have aged and grown into a different being than he once was, his dedication to the Legion has remained unquestionable. My artificial self hopes that the new freedoms bestowed upon your biological self will be to your liking.
Less uplifting is the next announcement regarding Fleet Commander Jim McKinsey. Due to classified circumstances his biological self is being moved to reserve status for an indefinite period of time.
However an old friend of the Legion, former Grand Admiral Raisu, has decided to make a comeback. As his biological self has not become fully acquainted with new technology and procedures yet, the obvious indoctrination will be stalling a possible full return and High Command has re-assigned the rank and position of a Fleet Marshal to his persona.
Regarding the physical well-being of Fleet Marshal Voss and Fleet Admiral Calder, High Command has decided to not disclose any specific information, however while the Fleet Admiral's biological self seems to be recovering from the stroke relatively well, he is going to stay under medical supervision for an indefinite amount of time. Fleet Marshal Voss' condition remains critical however. High Command will keep your collective biological selves up to date as necessary.
