actually, we are not the invaders - but maybe thats the reason the normal FL version hasn t got the extended intro. - it shows that THEY are the invaders - blowing up the sol system. - the reasons about it are unknown ( maybe attracted by technology like the borg - or attracted by the violence like predators, or just coincidence..... )
anyway - they are not really defensing ... or they haven t originally, they are defending NOW though.
edit: i think it was a good decission to cut the intro - its much more interesting to think of the humans being the invaders - on the other hand, the uncut intro is well done, and adding a lot more to the insight. leaves the question which version we take as the basis of disco.
