[font=Microsoft Sans Serif] There has been some recent developments regarding the Vagrant Raiders, an organization the Legion used to have ties with in times past. Some recent events have led to a reestablishment of communications. Legionnaires of Fleet Captain rank and higher can access the communications transcript [color=#FF9900]here.
[color=#FFBB00]For everyone else in general, the following should suffice. You may treat the relevant parts as direct instructions from High Command.
Quote:[font=Microsoft Sans Serif] After extensive interim discussion the Legion High Command has agreed on a proposition to the Vagrant Raiders, Overlord Spike.
[color=#FFBB00]As our relations with your biological selves are currently relatively cold on a large scale bar the recent events that heated them up, figuratively speaking, our approach will be a cautious and slow one. Our collective selves understand your position and we do understand perfectly that given what the Rogues have offered you and supply you with you do not wish for your relations with that organizations to deteriorate at the time being, especially if your biological selves have no other alternative to acquire what is given elsewhere.
As such, Legion forces are to avoid the Liberty Rogues should Raider elements be present in their immediate vicinity. Field commanders will be instructed to either put strike-missions on hold, or give the Raider forces present an advance warning so the latter can clear the area should direct action by the Legion be necessary without delay. My artificial self however will warn you not to use said fore-warnings to the Rogues' advantage if it can be avoided.
Secondly, as your biological self mentioned the Cardamine and Slave trade to not be profitable with too much competition in the field to boot, the Legion will understand this as the Raiders not partaking in that trade, especially not in Liberty space. It goes without mention that all field commanders can differentiate between a smuggling-shipment of the Cardamine substance, or personal supply. The latter shall not be of any issue at all times. Nor shall be acts of piracy against -foreign- corporations as long as they are not conducted while Legion forces are present in the area.
Third is tactical assistance. Field commanders of the Legion will be instructed to provide limited tactical aid and intelligence to present Raider elements as they see fit. On a limited basis, field commanders may also conduct joint strike operations with Raider elements as is necessary, and should a withdrawal from the field or otherwise occur, Legion forces will notify Raider elements of such.
Much as the Legion has its resources and military might, we're aware of our history, and we can understand the struggle and constant pressure that warfare puts on the former two. Your biological self's wish to conserve the Raider's assets as good as circumstances allow is none different to the Legion's, and field commanders will take this into account when making their decisions.
Regarding the observations of Fleet Admiral Calder's biological self, as there are no communications logs accessible, we can only make assumptions about the true nature of the observed events.
From what is so far known however, it doesn't seem too "far-fetched" to assume that the Roter Frontkämpferbund vessels were operating together with the Rogues. The Blood Diamond trade has been flourishing, and it comes as no surprise that the former organization is partaking in it.
The Rogues' direct involvement with the Hessian organization however may be a new development. Even so, as the commodity in question is by itself harmless and the applications of diamonds as a resource or otherwise in Liberty's industry are wide-spread, there is no reason for further concern.
However it is worth noting that a Rogue partaking in such trade, be it only for personal gain, is one less Rogue trafficking Cardamine or partaking in the slave-trade, and would serve as a potential supporter of the Red Hessian revolutionary movement. As such Liberty Rogues hauling Blood Diamonds are exempt from being shot on sight in order to avoid potential diplomatic issues.
Given the other events ongoing at the time, it is possible that the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army craft encountered at the scene may have been preoccupied with other matters and been given different priorities. As no communications or otherwise suggest a direct involvement, it would also be a plausible explanation that the pilots were just as confused. Seeing as the Hessians are to Command's current knowledge still allied with the Coalition, the latter's detachment present may have been unsure of the best course of action in the situation. Should further encounters such as this one occur and be observed, all Legionnaires are to directly report to High Command as soon as possible.
