At 1938 MST the ICOS Anubis received word of a PRF fighter in an engagement with a bounty in California the Anubis and the albatross, and the Alaric assisted by closing off the Magellan, Cortez, and California Jump gates. The fight was going smoothly until Lane hacker backup came in the form of a battleship known as the Vengeance. It immidetly destroyed the Anubis and proceeded after the Bounty Hunter. The Bahamut receiving a distress signal from the Anubis came to investigate. Upon confirming that it was a capital ship the Bahamut ordered the retreat of the Albatross and advised the PRF fighter to evacuate as weal.
Upon reaching California the PRF fighter was destroyed. And the Bahamut proceeded to exchange fire with the Vengeance to cover the retreat of the Albatross. The Alaric proceeded to recover the PRF agents escape pod and search for survivors of the Anubis.
The engagement between the Bahamut and The vengeance was a quick and bloody fight. Though the Bahamut fought bravely she was simply outmatched. she destroyed the vengeances shield generator and caused notable damage to the vengeance but ultimately the Bahamut was severely crippled in the fight and forced in a wounded retreat back to new York where all available ICO vessels and every brave freelancer and trader assembled a rag tag fleet to defend agenst the vengeances possible incursion into Manhattan. Luckily it never came. And as the vengeance was reported to be heading back to Magellan the fleet was relised and the Bahamut was forced into Norfolk shipyards where it is undergoing extensive repairs.
Two escape pods where found from the Anubis and the PRF pilot was recovered due to the brave actions of the crew of the Alaric. There where losses however and ceremonies for their burial will commence at 1400 hours MST. They will be sorely missed by all. The PRF pilot was evaced to Manhattan where he was placed in intensive care for his injuries while engaging the Vengeance. it takes some balls to engage a battleship in a fighter without backup. ICO respects his courage and hops he lives through the night.
