But I'd still like to hear your reasoning as to why my statement isn't a possible reason.
The Texas Incident occurred because dark matter clouds along the Texas Jump Gate route interfered with the gate, causing it to malfunction and severely explode. Also, that jump gate was experimental, so who knows what other flaws there could've been. Current jump gates follow a stable route and aren't as flawed as experimental gates. Destroying a stable, already-functional gate more than likely won't cause any major damage.
