There is that option, but it still doesn't care about volume. For example, if you take Aomori Station you will see VIPs atop at 1140 profit per second, per unit. The reality is that it's only a fifth of that because of the volume, so in actual fact H-Fuel is technically the most profitable route from that station.

I just tried this. I set FLCompanion's limitations to use 5k cargo.

When looking at a sell point for VIPs, in the description of the leg, it says something like "Buy 1000 units for $xyz each" and "Sell 1000 units for $xyz each."

It's only giving you 1000 units when you have a cargo hold of 5k, so yes, it most definitely is accounting for space.
